  1. Pretty sure that the R was in the font Rage Italic. I used to have it, but lost it during a PC transfer sadly, but I'm sure it's available for download for not much money. Good luck!
  2. This Month: The Seven of the Future? • (Re)calling Avon • Seven Hacks • Introducing: Simon Maitland • Sceptre – America’s Cup Challenger • News and Events • And Much More… Lowflying is currently with the printers and is expected to be sent out towards members around 9th March 2021.
  3. I think it's fair to say it's probably not the prettiest view of a Seven. Low down, I'd particularly be looking for signs of oxidisation along the bottom of the panels, which can indicate that the powder coat on the chassis has failed, causing bi-metallic corrosion. Best of luck with your search. Where are you in the country, and do you have an idea about what your ideal Seven would be?
  4. This Month: So, Who Was Edward Lewis? • Are You Sitting Comfortably? • Introducing: Alan Tough • From Ford To Ford And To The Future • The Current Argument… • Pick Up A Phone To Lift A Heart • A Massive Hunt • News And Events Lowflying is currently with the printers and is expected to be sent out towards members around 8th Feb.

    Roll bars

Hi Adam - I believe this article may provide some of the answers, http://lowflying.lotus7.club/2016/2016_03_05_Rollbars.pdf but I'm not sure I understand what you mean by the "standard" and "sloping" versions. As far as I know (setting aside the "tall" versions") the trackday bars are only available in single and double diagonal versions. The former were designed for the imperial (Arch) chassis, while the latter were a later design for the metric chassis.
  6. Simon Lambert provides some interesting insight on Caterham Cars' current views on the subject I am aware of a number of different projects in this area that may be or interest to members. Look out for an article in Lowflying in future months
  7. This Month: A Licence to speed… • My first week as a Sevener • Another turn of the wheel • Beyond the Academy • Before The Prisoner release of 1967 • News and events Lowflying is currently with the printers and is expected to be sent out towards members around 14th Jan.
  8. Welcome on board Arthur and great choice of car! I can't help with the build manual I'm afraid (hopefully someone else will!), but I can help with Lowflying. Back copies of LF are generally available from the Club office, but we also have an online archive of past editions that is available here: http://lowflying.lotus7.club/lowflying/search.jsp We have carried a number of stories on the the 160. A couple of links are below but it appears that there is a key edition missing from the archive (April '14) which had a major article on the development of the car. I'll see if I can get that sorted for you but in the meantime, if you could let me have your email address, I'll send you a scanned copy directly. The following editions also have 160 content and I'll have a think later to see what other articles there are that may be of interest to you. http://lowflying.lotus7.club/2014/2014_06_05_160.pdf http://lowflying.lotus7.club/2014/2014_05_07_CTI.pdf All the best and hope to see you at a Club event in your car when it's allowed again
  9. Hi Tim - not directly relevant, but there's sone information about the development of the 6 speed box and what was carried over from the Type 9 in the Lowflying archive here: Otherwise, this is another thumbs up for Road and Race Transmissions

  11. TSK (Aka "Tony the Brush") only moved from Erith to next to GP Sevens last year. Great people to do business with and the move addresses the only problem with their old premises which was ease of access...
  12. 13. Yes, relatively easy job. You'll need to get a new upper steering column fitted with a quick release boss and then it's a direct swap to and fro between fixed and QR. Think you might need to play with the relative positions of the lower UJ near the rack so that the wheels are straight when the steering wheel is straight but other than that it's a quick and easy job when you have the parts.
  14. This Month: The View From The Boardroom • The Wait Was Worth It • Competing At Curborough • Novice Notes From Anglesey • Fridge Door • The New Number Seven • On Track For The Academy • Driven: The Ashbury Triangle • News And Events Lowflying is currently with the printers and is expected to be sent out towards members around 7th October.

    Wiscombe

Great venue, great competition, great company. Shame it's the end of the 'season' but it's been two more events than I honestly expected this year...

  20. Hi Rich - sorry to hear of your woes and I hope you;ve had some positive support from your dealer. To get a more rapid technical response from the Club community, I;d suggest posting on the Techtalk forum which is much more frequently looked at than the blogs. Best of luck!
