... to do a fluid change on my X-flow?
Thanks! Michael.

Hmmm, The Alloy is more lime 4.somethink kg and a bit more than £100 also.
Probably still a lot cheaper than the magnsesium one, anyway.
Mind you, carbon, magnesium ... GREAT pub brag words
Michael.

Yes, they marry up with the standard bases. These are used on the front of the half soord as they will only come off in one direction, so that you can remove them, but the wind does not get underneath them.
On the downside, if someone catcheds the door accidentally when getting outm the poppers tend to break rather than come off the base, so I suggest keeping a few spares in reserve (beware, they're £1 each!)

No problem - As long as they are ready and fit in the car, I'll drive all those going to BGH round myself.
Regards - Michael.

Ozzy,
There was an advert in LF last month I think of a tyre company in High Wycombe that had decent Yoko prices including fitting.
I've always used George Polleyin the past, but next time I'll give these guys a chance if they can save the postage and fitting charges.
Sorry - don't have details to hand though - Michael.
-
No problem Norman - I forgot that yours was now going to BGH too...
Michael.

Right, it's just got a lot easier.
Quaife have confirmed that there is no difference in the casings, it's just that they have an optional conversion layshaft which can be bought if anyone needs it. They indicated that they might be willing to throw a few in for cheap/free if required by anyone.
From the previous posts, I am not sure that anyone does actually require this conversion kit. If anyone disagrees with this, please let me know!
As I said before, it looks like the bare castings are now there, and are being readied. If I can get the time off work, and they are ready, I propose to go up to Quaife on Tuesday 16th to pick up my case and take it to BGH. At the same time, I will pick up and deliver yours Simon, and get Luke's lid to be sent on. Andy, if your case is going to be built by BGH, would you like me to deliver it directly to them and save the courier charge, or would you like it to go to you first?
Regards,
Michael.

More to the point Shaun, if you dropped the engine off at Milton Keynes, could you ever convince Gill that all you had changed were the verniers 😬

BTW - have jus been told that the cases are now in
They need to be machined and de-burred so within 7 days or so should be ours.
Regards - Michael.

OK - so here's my understanding of the requirements:
Norman Verona Standard Ford Stub - will be fitted with BGH internals
Barry Train Machined for a Quaife Dog Box
Simon Bell Ford Stub - will be fitted with BGH internals
Michael Calvert Ford Stub- will be fitted with BGH internals
Nick D TBA
Peter T Ford Stub
Davey B TBA but likely to be standard Ford
Andy Barefoot TBA
Is that correct so far?
Regards - Michael.
-
Sinon - If you're going with BGH then I'm 99.999% sure that you still have the Ford stub.
However, I'd appreciate if you could double check as this is what a fair few of us are doing!
Regards - Michael.

Hello all,
I have had confirmation from Quaife that they have received the order and cheque which I sent.
They have asked for re-confirmation that the gearbox cases will all be used with the standard Ford stubs. I know that this will be the case for me – is this different for anyone?
Regards,
Michael.

Hi All,
Just to say that I now have most of the promised cheques - There are two more that I was told to expect, but I am going to place the order on Saturday, so if you want to join this, please hurry up
Quaife said that there is a manufacturing run of these cases going through at the moment that should be ready in just under 2 weeks. Hopefully this will be ours although they will obviously not promise this until they have received our firm order...
I'll keep all informed - Michael.

I am interested in a spare Alternator. How does twenty pounds sound?
However, this would have to be dependant on your location relative to mine as it probably wouldn´t be worth the postage cost otherwise....

Well, a most excellent daty was had.
It stayed pretty much dry until the last session and Mallory is a much more interesting track that I had been led to believe. What's more, it does seem to live up to its "The Friendly Circuit" name with smiles from the marshalls, cooks in the clubhouse and all.
It's just sad that this is the last trackday of the year for me ☹️
Great to meet lots of new faces. Hope you all had a safe (and dry!) trip home.

A few washers under the bobbin where the exhaust is bolted onto the chassis at the back cag gain you a few precious mm.

Right - Now we are getting somewhere.
I now have the quote, and as long as we get 5 or more takers for the casing, and 4 or more for the lids, the prices are confirmed as follows.
We can get the QMAMCSQ maincase for £280 + VAT = £329 instead of list £350+VAT = £411.25
We can get the QMATC5 Cover for £49.30+VAT = £57.92 instead of list £58 + VAT = £68.15
For some eason, the package price has come in about £6 more than previously quoted, but still a good discount overall.
Shipping is £12 + Vat per order or they will ship the whole lot to one destination for £30 (perhaps of use if anyone is around the Bucks/Berks area and wants to pick up from me?)
Peter- they have confirmed that the QMAMCS is the same product, but with some different machining to the lid. They confirm that they can provide this for the same price as above.
So, if you are still interested, please could you confirm this to me at my home address Michael_calvert@dsl.pipex.com and put a cheque for the appropriate amount in the post. My home address is
35 Portland Close
Burnham
Berks SL2 2LT.
Regards,
Michael.

Called them this afternoon - they close at 3:30 on a Friday
Wish I could go home at that time from work
Will call first thing on Monday...
They make a great product, but Not impressed with customer service skills at the moment.
Michael.

Well, after a week of waiting, they have finally come back with a quote - and it is wrong
Will keep you updated... Michael.

It was only at Le Mans this year that Shaun Elwell put me straight as to what a Merkin was.
Suggest a quick Google search for those who don't know - probably best not done from a work account, however 😳
Michael.

No problem Norman
Hopefully you got my two mails back 😳
Michael.

Thought that might be the answer.![*thumbdown*](https://www.caterhamlotus7.club/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png)
It's time for me to swap my 0.5l pot for a 1l pot at Halfords in that case...
