  1. 55kg for a bare standard chassis rings a bell, although I suspect that's before panelling so 70-75kg panelled and painted? 

    At the factory tours earlier this year, members were certainly surprised how easy it was to pick up an end of a chassis with just one hand!

  4. As I understand it, the concept is being being promoted by Paul Parker of the HSA / British Sprint Championship and is aiming to comprise events at Brands Hatch, Donington, Oulton Park and Snetterton...

    The question is - could anyone realistically expect the Smith / Matchwich competition to become a 12 months/annum affair? *rofl*

    From the videos that arrived in my inbox this morning, it looks like competitors were "trying hard" on Saturday's practice day too... *rofl*

Hi Stu - there are so many variable here, including tyre size and I'm not that familiar with the power delivery of the 1900 K-Series engine, but have you had a play with Gearcalc here - I would have though that with your knowledge of peak power and shift points for your engine, it would allow you to have a good play with options?

     

     

  7. For the benefit of anyone who ever finds themselves in a similar situation, the Club has come up with this helpful "Spot the differences" guide to hillclimb preparation.  You may also find it a useful reference when heading to trackdays, sprints, and IVA appointments. *byebye*

  8. It's not an amazing spectator venue. but just the drive to get there makes it pretty worthwhile and there are definitely worse places to spend a few hours!  As an army range, "basic" hardly does the paddock justice, but there are some loos (designed for squaddies) a butty van and a stream!

    Do you have the directions to find it (because unless you've been there before, you'll need them!)
