Yes, same here. Just had the car reskinned by Arch and they have given me the replacement floor which I need to fit.
Time to be a lemming down at B&Q and buy some self-tappers!
Michael.

What is the best way of securing the honeycomb boot floor? My old wodden floor was held down with self tappers - Can you do the same with the honeycomb and maybe countersink the floor so that it is flush?
Michael.

*thumbup* Great effort - I look forward to seeing it around this year!

Call Caterham technical - they sent me a two page (hand drawn!) diagram for a 91 Xflow a couple of months ago...
Regards - Michael.

Certainly hope so Martin (due in no small measure to recent help from our esteemed competition secretary!) as well as Kipper and Shaun Elwell.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon - Michael.

Answered my own question from the Swansea Motor Club - we are L7...
Can't wait!

Thanks for the link - what class are we?
Thanks - Michael.

Chris - had a feeling that if I did not respond to this, then you would! How is your rebuild coming on?
Michael.

Yup, Nuts

Aha - looks like a thread with my name on it!
She's beginning to look more like a car now
- all the major mechanicals are back on with the exception of the front uprights. This is partly because I am waiting on the spacers from Caterham and partly because the stubs on the bottom of the uprights are (quite a bit) wider than the spherical bearings into which they are supposed to fit. I can only attack them with emery paper but has anyone else encountered this?
Many thanks to those who have helped so far - Mark Durrant, Kipper and Shaun Elwell in particular as well as all those who have provided remote advice...
As Tam, says, the wiring, then fiddly jobs like the rear arches, boot cover etc etc come next. Neil - your offer is greatly appreciated - I sometimes do manage to get away from work early enough to do the odd job in the evening but it really depends on work. If you have any particular date in mind then do drop me a call - mobile 07766 022864.
I have just popped to the garage to take a few photos of her as she is today - here
See you on the track later in the year!
Michael.

I have a brand new Caterham one sitting unused in my garage. Yours for cost of postage plus a bit to NTL if you are interested...

Michael.

from a type 9 gearbox (because I now have a Stack electronic pickup) will I need some sort of cap to prevent an oil leak, or is it sealed?
Thanks -
Michael.

Ah - thanks. I'll get onto Caterham on Monday. So , the spacers just lift the taper so it goes only so far into the bearing?
Thanks -
Michael.

I'm starting to reassemble H5URF. I am converting from trunions to the later uprights on Widetrack. However, the uprights do not want to seem to fit into the spherical bearings - does it just take brute force?
Looking at the online build manual (my original one does not cover the later front suspension) there is mention of a spacer (5/8" mm id x 3/4" od x 8mm) which should be inserted onto the bottom of the upright. I do not seem to have this, and anyway, the upright seems to be an over-tight fit anyway?!?
What am I doing wrong? Thanks - Michael.

And wear gloves while fitting - otherwise very itchy!
Michael.

Thanks - mine is a 91 chassis so obviously we have the same problem. Do you remember if you had two different widths of shims front and back?
Regards,
Michael.

Looks like you are right - I have the double shear muntings but the pre 97 pick up points.
Does anyone know what bolt sizes are needed all round for the front wishbones in this configuration? My manuals old and new do not cover this...
Thanks - Michael.
-
Just found that the top hats packed with the front dampers are thinner so used them instead. May have moved the problem for when I come to do the front - we'll see!
Thanks - Michael.

I'm having trouble fitting my new rear Nitron dampers. With the top hats and runner washers fitted, they seem to be a couple of mm wider than my old AVOs and won't fit between the brackets ☹️
Am I doing anything obvious wrong, or do Nitron do different size top hats for different cars?
Thanks - Michael.

Hi - My chassis has come back from Arch ith "updated" front suspension pick up points which seem to require a single bolt to go through the rear upper wishbone and the damper.
The hardware pack which I got from Caterham does not seem to cater for this and I cannot find a size in any manual. Does anyone know what size this should be please?
Thanks,
Michael.

YHM back
Michael.

Hi - Chris - thanks for bringing this to my attention.
What size holes approx are needed in the bottom chassis rails? I would certainly be interested in this subject to not needing too much cutting...
Regards - Michael.

A big thanks and
to Mark Durrant and Shaun for their help at the weekend.
H5 URF is starting to look a bit more like a car than a pile of bits. Plenty more to go but Tam and I will be back!
All the best -
Michael.
