  7. Are you suggesting that wasn't the fastest way around that corner Simon In my defence, I did come clean about my misdemeanour, particularly as (although you can't see it in the photo) I came perilously close to wiping out the timing equipment, which I suspect may not have made me too popular
  8. 8 valves rule In all seriousness, a great day of motorsport and those who haven't tried Epynt really should. Coming from the South East, I am always surprised when I find that it's really not that far back to the Severn Bridge and then to home - Brecon Beacons may feel like another world, but it's actually not too far from home for me... A great weekend, definitely helped by the good weather (again!). I for one hope that we can keep this on our calendar.

  10. Now in its third edition, Roberto Rizzo tells us that the team is working to make this year’s event better than ever! The Portofino Meeting has always been one of the most successful meetings of Lotus 7 Club Italia, and the team is keen to invite Seven owners from around the world to join in. “The spirit will be the same as usual, exactly what one could expect from a Seven meeting in Italy! First of all a lot of driving along beautiful scenic roads, between the Maritime Alps and the Ligurean Sea. And if this is not Italian enough we add picturesque old towns on the sea, with colourful houses, delicious local food, and of course –even if Phil doesn’t agree, read his article on the side!- a lot of wine. Again if you think this is not enough, remember that in Liguria in September the average temperature is high enough to enjoy a bath in the sea or in the hotel’s swimming pool, and the sun is strong enough to gently dry you while you indulge on a chaise longue on the beach. The program of the meeting is roughly to gather at the meeting point (that will be communicated a few days before the meeting), then we drive along the meeting route, with a few breaks, and of course a big lunch. The route will end at the hotel, where we’re expected to arrive in mid-afternoon. So you have time for a little rest, or to take a bath! Before the dinner, we’ve organized an “aperitivo” in the hotel patio, so we can have some informal social time with the other guests. The dinner also will be in the hotel’s restaurant. So you will not have the hassle to drive back to the hotel, and you won’t feel guilty drinking a couple of glasses of wine. I must add that the hotel’s restaurant is one of my favourite restaurants in the area… On Sunday we will have a shorter drive in the area, to leave some spare time for sightseeing or going to the beach. The meeting will end with the final lunch on Sunday. Prices & conditions The price is €260,00 for the driver and €180,00 for the passenger (which means, at the present exchange rates £187,00 and £130,00). The price includes: Registration to the meeting Saturday lunch Saturday aperitivo Saturday dinner Stay in 4-star hotel Private parking in the hotel Sunday lunch (the meals included: water, wine or optional beer and coffee). Please note that the room availability is limited. The first people who register will be assigned a room in the main hotel. When the rooms will be finished we will send you to nearby hotels, but prices or hotel category might change. If you have any special need (attend to 1 day only, sleep in a different hotel, etc), please contact roberto.rizzo@lotus7club.it for a personalized quote. Interested? The registration form can be found at: http://www.lotus7club.it/en/portofino What? Drive to Italy for just a weekend? We understand that it is a long drive from England to Italy. So we will be happy to provide a few suggestions for a longer stay. Just send us an email and we’ll be happy to advise We also have contacts with a shipping company which can arrange for your car to be transported down to Italy, if you don’t fancy the drive. Again, send us an email and we’ll be happy to put you in contact. Contacts http://www.lotus7club.it/en/portofino Email: Roberto.rizzo@lotus7club.it
  11. Small positive - looks like I will now probably be able to make it, so at least Class 3 will have 3 competitors. Epynt is a great hill and I do think it's a shame that it isn't better attended... Is anyone else from L7C planning on staying onsite the night before? Michael.

  13. Thank you SOOO much for pointing that out Simon... Mind you, taking the view that attack is the best form of defense, I would point out in return that I was not the one who went home carrying the yellow trowel (for a change) and that at least I got a little bit further into the lap before spinning than Mr Elwell managed in practice... Michael.
  14. BEGGING BOWL TIME Would anyone be kind enough to put their hand up to write an event report from Goodwood please? it could be a competitor or a spectator and I'm happy if you want to come at it from any sort of unusual angle... I'm not competing unil Hethel; I may be spectating at Goodwood, but you're all bored of having me wittering on and on... Thanks - Michael
  15. I've just traced my misfire to the fact that the wire to the CPS has been just touching the alternator fan, with obvious results! I'm going to ty to get a replacement TPS and cable assembly from Webcon, but looking at their parts list, I may only be able to get this with a full trigger wheel and bracket assembly, which gets pretty expensive, The other option is just to join the cut wires up again. It looks like there is only a blue and a black wire to connect, although these are surrounded by more wire which I guess is shielding? If I do reconnect the wires (bullet conectors?) am I likely to be leaving myself open to getting interference issues? Cheers - Michael.
