Thanks but I really want to change my existing AP LSD to 4.11, so I'll pass on the swap for now.
All the best - Michael.
-
Long shot, but anyone have a 4.11 ration CWP surplus to requirements?
Thanks - Michael.

As it says
Not particularly worried about type, or having the wiring loom. Would also consider OMEX.
ANyhthing out there on a shelf needing a home?

Word of warning when calibrating the Stack fuel gauge. Don't whatever happens drain the fuel to a minimum to set the "empty" level, set off for to the fuel station to register the "full" level but get tempted to "just go for a quick spin " first instead.
Having to call your wife to come out with a jerry can to get you going again is very embarrassing

A can of carb cleaner works wonders too, as you might expect

Daddy says he's looking for money down the back of the sofa, but has only found 2p and a slightly fluffy boiled sweet

I ran with the original studs for a couple of years. I then met a very thorough scrutineer at Harwood hillclimb who pointed out (having spent ages with his micrometer) that I was JUST outside of the MSA regulations that say that you have to have 1.5x the diameter of stud as depth within the nuts. I was something like 1.46x from memory
Anyway, I got to compete, but did change them when I rebuilt the car that winter.

Here's one of how H5 URF looked before the rebuild a few years ago here

Gill - I have to back Shaun up here. It is generally recognised that heaters are compatible with engines of up to approx 240bhp. Above that and their behaviour becomes unpredictable and is not recommended. If the planned engine upgrade could take you into this "danger zone" (will it?) then the car would be far safer heaterless.
If you need any more helpful advice, feel free to blatmail me and I'll be happy to help

Great stuff! Welcome to class 3
The more the merrier, and roll on a great competition next year

Brilliant news

Looks like the distinction between 1.8 Zetec and 2.0 Zetec might come into play them. Raceline quote peak torque of 146 lb/ft for their 160bhp 2.0l
Michael.
-
Interesting comments.
I would be in favour of allowing Zetecs into Class 3, so long as a fairly level playing field is maintained. This needs to take into account more than just "peak power", as I believe is recognised by the fact that currently, 1800 Ks in class 3 are capped at 140 bhp, compared to other smaller capacity / 8 valve engines being allowed 160 bhp.
I have no personal experience of driving a Carb equipped Zetec, but would be concerned that a 2L 16V engine may have a significant advantage over other types?

You can all keep guessing until the cows come home re middle names beginning with B, but I'm actually a Michael Andrew Calvert (not tooo embarassing, and I really should join MAC as a namesake!)
No idea why I was down as Michael B, but I can confirm I was at Curbs both days and am in class 3...

Sorry Simon - I was planning on leaving earlier - mid afternoon - to avoid the M6 traffic. I don't know what the Elwell's plans are though?
Michael.

Have been playing with camber / toe this morning and would like a quick double check I haven't done anything too stupid if possible.
(Mind you, as someone who didn't notice anything felt wrong when driving Curborough with 3 of one type/size of tyre and one of another type, how likely am I to notice a few degrees here or there?!?)

As you can see, Tam & I are great communicators 😬

From Burnham (jn 7 of M4 if that helps Richard?)

Do a Google search for a free application called Gearcalc. It#ll allow you to model the effect of different gears on your particular car's combination of diff, wheel size etc!
Also, Ask for advice from BGH - they have a lot of experience of this conversion for 7s.
Regards - Michael.
-
Another recommendation for BGH here. They very successfully rebuilt, and modified the ratios in my 5 speed box a few years ago.
Their website and price list can be found here.
All the best - Michael.

Al - the competitor parking is seperate from the spectator parking, but it's all very close.
Do you have tickets? Most of us have got spares so it seems silly to spend extra money getting in. My mobile is 07902 472360 if you wanted to give me a call from the gate -
