  1. Thanks Paul - it will be interesting to go back and have a wander around all those cars of your youth Of course I don't remember any of them, before my time...... Mike
  2. Hi Chris, I seem to have run out of holiday, so I will not be going to Anglesey and so I won't be needing a garage space. Mike
  3. Hi Al, I might well have a clear I can let you have. I have 2 of what I think are the formul helmets and I gather they are no longer acceptable for MSA events next year. I only used the light or dark smoke visors, so I am sure you can have one of the clears. Send me a mail and I will take a picture and send to you. Best regards Mike
  4. Sent from me too. with a few additional bits. Mike
  5. Andy, Congratulations on taking on the job I would be very happy with Cadwell on 18th May, as for me it makes perfect sense to go on after the Club Sprint at Curborough on the previous day. The evening session at Brands would also be attractive, especially if that can be OPL as well. I hope we all make to job an enjoyable experience for you - and thanks! Mike
  6. I am not sure I have really thought about that section of the regs . For us in Class 4 the plan is to keep it all the same as it was in 2014 and I think many of us have had to 'cap' the bhp to fit into the limit. Interestingly (or not!!), although my Tom New-rebuilt engine apparenly made a max of something like 220 bhp on the dyno at the beginning of the year, the max on the rolling road at JKM in Portsmouth just before Anglesey was 205.7bhp - and the capped bhp is about 187 on the map I use at the events. Even if there is some advantage in having a slightly capped bhp engine over one that has a spec that fits the 190 limit exactly, the difference in engine characteristics between the K and a Duratec is much more significant. I am not sure we have much choice with the Ks, and I don't think that in this case we are 'unfairly' exploiting the regulations. On the other hand, I will happily review your map and make the necessary adjustments to make sure you don't have to worry about it I need all the help I can get!!! Mike
  7. I too can appreciate how much goes intot trying to sort out the calendar for us, so thank you to Matt and of course to our new Comp Sec . I also think it is a shame we could not fit Wiscombe in - it is one of the loveliest venues we go to, and one of the most demanding - as well as providing an opportunity to visit the seaside . Even if lost for this year, I would certainly vote to try to get back there next year. Mike
  8. Hmm.... not sure what I think is the best now*confused* I was quite looking forward to using the 'other' setting on the Emerald and using the whole 205.7 BHP recorded on the rolling road just before Anglesey. It apparently made 220bhp on the dyno when first built, but obviously my co-driver Chris has worn it out a bit*wink* I do have the feeling that we need to do something new in C4 for next year - at some of the events it was only Jeremy and myself and a 2 entry class - even if competitive, which it was, is not what most of us want. If we are likely to attract a whole new group of people with 190 bhp that is fine, let's keep it, but I am not sure there are many around that 'naturally' fit into that limit anymore, and realistically, any people trying it for the first time are highly unlikely to get their R400 detuned to dip their toes in. I can be persuaded either way, but I think at the moment I would vote for the raised limit to 210bhp. Mike
  9. We have booked as well - looking forward to picking up and keeping forever a huge trophy Mike
  10. At least it will be the same for us all - thank heavens for a tyre warmer though So far we have managed to annoy two sets of neighbours - one with the hedges (obviously) and when Mark came over to kindly help diagnose the problem I had with a missfire after Wiscombe - a very irate lady stormed up the drive to tell me that we had been making that noise revving the engine all day and that it was totally unnecessary...... I should have asked her to elaborate - she may have been a expert in K series engines and she had already worked out it was a gasket failure on the jenveys ...or maybe not. She wasn't even next door, but from across the road. Mind you, I did have the airbox off........ I hate to think what she makes of the continuous noise the birds make round here..... to say noting of the foghorns and the fast cat ferry to the IoW! I think I will complain to someone about both It would be interesting to know who at Gurston is affected by the noise - it is hard to imagine who is near enough for it to be a real nuisance, and how many weekends a year? And I am not surprised someone has complained about the noise near you Stuart - I have been sitting in the paddock next to your exhaust enough times!!!! Mike
  11. Hello Danny I will obviously have to have a few words with your fiancé to tell her the sort of things only a Dad knows It pains me, obviously as a parent, but we have to be responsible...... well, some of us try to occasionally I am shocked that you are listening to radio 2 though...... Dad

Just a quick note to say thank you to all of you for the kind words in the card and of course the present *biggrin*on the occasion of our wedding. We had a lovely day and I am sure the red wine will only help to make our future together happy if not all that coherent when trying to speak 😬 Many thanks to you all. Mike & Barbara
  17. If you still have some left I would be very grateful for 2 - will blatmail the address. Cheers Mike
  18. Please put Team Rioja down for 2 places. I will check with Kate and Chris as well, but someone will have to look after baby Tilly
  19. I am pretty sure I will be there +1. Doubt if Chris or Kate will make it as either she will be very large by then, or there will be 3 of them Mike
