  1. Yep I've got one cluttering up my loft from my 1994 De-Dion car.
  2. Yea got your email & forgot to confirm on Thursday. Either Saturday or Sunday (2nd/3rd) would be OK for us. Speak at Spa, or in the Beau Site?.......or pop over to "The House".

    SPA

Just remember that the settee was booked on a long lease by certain Se7en owners from Surrey/Sussex many moons ago! See you there Allen. Edited by - Mick Day on 19 Aug 2006 21:54:42
  4. PS angus? Are you coming to Spa?
  5. Why bolt the screens through the scuttle. No structural need & it's so much easier to remove when you decide to return to the dark side. By the way SPA mirrors seem to work well but maybe go with the convex surfaces as this gives a wider field of view. Why put anything under the stanchion? Any marking is hidden by the stanchion for the aeros & the big air brake thingy. Edited by - Mick Day on 19 Aug 2006 21:47:10
  6. My knee panels are screwed on but that may be because I used to have the luxury leather covered ones. However there is an easy way to remove the stanchion without touching the knee panels, but you will need to remove them 1st to fit the mod. Replace your scuttle retaining channels, 1 either side, with the up-market ones which have captive nuts for the stanchion fixings: £28.20 a pair from CC.
  7. Myles I've done this but dispensed with the poncy BRB & just use the aircraft type switch. V easy to do as I had the scuttle off at the time. I've also fitted some hidden switches to control the fuel pump & the starter circuit as I didn't want some idiot activating the starter with the car in gear I agree on the security issue as any tealeaf could hot-wire a Se7en within 2 seconds.
  8. From what I understand the Alcon 4 pots take the same size pads as the CC AP 4 pots. Part numbers as given to me by Stijn: Paged Brakes for Alcon 4 pot & standard rear: Front: U1749-RS15: Pad Race AP CP2340 043 16mm Rear: U1163-RS14 : Pad Race WVA20981 Cosworth
  9. Noisy..............not in my car, however the passenger usually gives a sharp intake of breathe as we stop in just the right place at the junction 😬
  10. Paged Brakes for Alcon 4 pot & standard rear: Front: U1749-RS15: Pad Race AP CP2340 043 16mm Rear: U1163-RS14 : Pad Race WVA20981 Cosworth I was given this by Stijn a while back (I think).
  11. James Whiting recommended RS15 front, RS14 rear. Performance Braking Ltd, 01600 713117 is another good source of advice. Edited by - Mick Day on 16 Aug 2006 09:58:03
  12. One thing to bear in mind is stone damage as most Caterham grills have holes big enough to let half bricks through. Maybe the aluminium is more suseptable to damage compared to the standard offering?
  13. Pace would be another place to look as well as Brise. So far, touch wood, my 3 month old Radtec is still OK..................is that a record?
  14. To expand. Narrow track: went from 32's on 14" to 48's on 13"; 2 deg negative camber & parallel tracking. Didn't really notice any difference in tramlining. Now same 48's on wide track are noticeably more "active". Checked tracking & reduced toe-out to parallel & it's better behaved. So the question is: is this a function of the wide track or a function of the tyre?
  15. here ........Would be cheaper to buy an Emerald & laptop I would suspect.
  16. For anyone who does use Active Sync for synchronising with PDA's & phones this might be usefull here
  17. Do you run Active Sync? That grabs hold of the port & won't let go.
  18. Just had a look & yes that's the way they're fitted. Enjoy the trip.
  19. All earths under the dash are connected to the wiper motor bracket.
  20. *confused* Hmmmmm............ without looking at the popper I don't know. I just worked it out as I hammered them on.................I'll send you an pic later.
  21. You need the hexagonal bases with the directional poppers; different undercut to engage the poppers correctly. Assuming you're using the directional ones on the front of the doors just ensure they can only come off as you "peel" the door forward ie against the direction of the air flow. Hope that makes sense Mick
  22. I've taken mine from the 1/8" NPT fitting & it mounts on the bracket which supports the header tank. You need 55cm of hose. If you take everything to Think they will check the threads & supply everything to fit including the terminating bracket for the hose & sender. Just up the road from James Whiting & quite close to Slough. 1/8" BSP will fit into a 1/8" NPT (NPT is a tapered thread). However Think will supply an adapter, if like me, you don't like mixing up your threads. If you Blatmail me I can send some pics.
  23. *confused*Aaarh I see, it's the headlight bowls that are disintegrating not the light unit itself.
