Despite CC's instructions, this is a pretty straight forward job. Do it yourself and save £200. Give yourself plenty of access: exhaust manifold off, alternator off, and I happened to have the radiator off at the time. For real security use top and bottom fixers, rivetted to the chassis. Do not rely on cable-ties alone.Only a small amount of metal needs to come off the block, but I did need to relieve the alternator bracket to clear the oil pipes (1.4SS). The angles of the flow pipes to and from the oil filter adaptor plate are critical -see photos on Angus and Tessa's web page. Trial fit and finally tighten the adaptor plate pipes whilst on the workbench and transfer to the car. Fit a spare alternator belt and clip it out of the way. It is possible to make the Apollo oil tight first time ❗
