  1. #11 Stu, Catstart, that's a blast from the past. Sold mine for a fortune a few years ago! Malcolm
  2. My Schroth 6 point harness has separate length adjusters on the shoulder and waist straps near their chassis points in addition to the ordinary adjusters. It is, however, the narrow width optimised for a HANS device, so might not be what you want. May help with your 'skinny problem' https://caterhamparts.co.uk/seatbelts-harnesses/6490-schroth-6pt-rh-kit.html
  3. I'd consider getting the engine, clutch an flywheel balanced. Made a noticeable difference wrt vibration and smoothness on both my K series and Twin Cam.
  4. #37 +1 I find the only way to ensure bleeding is successful is having a flexible brake line so the caliper free to be moved.
  5. Float chamber levels and condition of hoses as described above. If fitted, check the cold start mechanism on both carbs, they are a good source of petrol leaks. Malcolm
  6. I found the VVC can have awful timing marks and concluded that offset dowels were necessary, but never bothered.
  7. As above, I find it'll come out forwards and down in my 94 car. Just enough room and correct angle, but impossible to describe!
  8. #2 and #4 So what were the secrets in the 'Private Message Sent'? TechTalk needs solutions to be published for all to see if it is going survive. Malcolm
  9. #44 Agreed. That killed any chance of a new pattern and remanufacture of the K dry sump pan without supply through CC. Interestingly, CC were not initially interested at all in this until they saw there was some demand and cashed in on the sale, significantly higher than the price I had achieved for similar numbers. I see the K dry sump pan is now £775 incl tax !!!!!!!!
  10. The one in the first link is the correct one for the EU1 Rover loom, with a push on alternator connector with wire clip retainer I replaced mine (1994 1400 ss) for about £70 from an auto electric retailer, but that was about 4 years ago.
  11. Tom The overslung rear ARBs fitted to cars in the 1990s can foul the wheel, inner wheel arch aluminium skin and when they break, they can puncture the fuel tank. I've had all those, luckily the tank was dented and not punctured. I removed mine and the bonus was the car handles better. Malcolm
  12. #33 I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for Titan to help you out, their relationship with CC is watertight. I discovered this trying to get the K series dry sump pan re-manufactured about 6 years ago (when it was unavailable). Malcolm
  13. I'll have 1 fog light lens please, if still available Malcolm
  14. On eBay, no links with seller. This is a rare item. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-K-SERIES-1-4-16V-14K4F-POWER-STEERING-PUMP-SUPPORT-HOUSING-QVU100510/362898782545?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3D95a673a04b434d398d38ca6c6225b89a%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D184335850236%26itm%3D362898782545%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2060778%26brand%3DRover&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507
  15. +1 for Paul Richard's suggestion #5 - now 8 years on and works well.
  16. I've just fitted the Schroth 6 point from CC - it is easy to fit and much easier to adjust than the Luke 6 point I had before.
  17. Flywheel 1 - Stone 0 (but I did loose a washer in the gap once, stayed there until the next engine out).
  18. ....unless you are intending to drive the car on track, it is essential that the catch tank is closed off and vented, to help prevent oil spills.
  19. Check the chassis in the vicinity of the lower mounts for cracks as a result of diff movement.
  20. Pre S Type leather seats from 1994, no head rests with the hole plugged with a plastic cap, so they could be fitted if a pair located. Good condition, just requiring some elbow grease with leather cleaner and restorer following storage. No rips, just some scratch marks on the driver's seat and this seat show more signs of use compared to the other. No broken wires or springs as far as I can tell. Collection only, but I can help meeting up or bring to Curborough sprint weekend in late August (provided the event happens). Please PM me with an email address for photos. £150 Thanks. Malcolm
