  1. Graham I'd be up for this, but it 's HDLCC members practice weekend at Loton. Sorry! Malcolm
  2. Dominic Blatmail me and I will return some photos tomorrow. Malcolm
  3. Use the 1400 FPR with cream1800 injectors. 1400 SS plenum is fine with 1800. Had no rough/rich running probs. 1400 ECU should be fine with 1400 F/W and loom. Try resetting. Still sounds like HGF to me.
  4. Rob W 😬 Dave J: The cam timing is as set up by Dave Andrews. Are there better settings for the 4:2:1? I'm restricted (class 2 regs)to the standard TB as fitted to the SS aluminium plenum. Cold air is an easy mod for the forward facing TB
  5. Is there any significant gain in having a 4:2:1 over 4:1 long header exhaust when fitted to 1800 k with SS (correctly timed) cams, standard unported head and supersport plenum (old type)? Cost 2nd hand seem to be £300-500, and I wondered if this is cost effective. malcolm
  6. MSA speed licence? Any other details, date, regs etc ? Malcolm
  7. If you have kept the original ECU, flywheel/sensor and loom, and simply changed the injectors for a higher capacity, that should run perfectly. Sounds more like HGF to me. What do you know about the secondhand engine? Don 't be worried about the cam followers being noisy.
  8. But compared to the Twin Cam and BDA engined escorts, that Pinto engine is so unsexy....
  9. I agree with Neil. The ATB is a significant improvement over an open diff on track, didn't notice a difference (good or bad) on the road. But I have never driven a ZF equipped car, though. Malcolm Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 19 Dec 2006 09:05:17
  10. Nifty, I wasn't trying to be subtle. Nick, have a BTTT on me
  11. Martin YHM! and visit Stu's website malcolm
  12. Scooter I have a brand new unused DS tank ( without fittings or tower ) for K series which I will probably be selling shortly, as hopefully I'm buying a complete secondhand DS kit. Malcolm
  13. Peter, I am no 'cooling expert' but: Do you know that this WILL provide adequate circulation ( with the coolant rail to old thermostat housing closed off) to prevent localised boiling in the head before the thermostat opens?
  14. see http://www.blatchat.com/t.asp?Id=64109
  15. edited as I didn't read Nic's post!! Malcolm Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 13 Dec 2006 14:00:26
  16. Careful not to take too much off and break through the casting
  17. Stu The CH engineer is going to fit a remote thermostat on the Rayburn!
  18. Thanks Angus and Steve. Any photos of the current n/s engine mount (K) with the gusset?
  19. 1.Drive shaft retaining nuts, should these be replaced or OK to reuse? If replace, are they a std Ford part? 2.N/S engine mount is cracked around 1/3 of the weld on the flange on the inner end. OK to weld this up or should replace? 3.Rear wheel bearings, what are the QH or Ford part nos? Thanks Malcolm
  20. Dan I think Mark is being very rude to you, as you should be allowed to do whatever you want do to your car in your tent. Would you like to buy some of my sheep ? *tongue* Malcolm
  21. BV inlet size 1.560-1.566in (39.776mm), standard 1.526-1.530 (38.760mm) Sad, I know......
  22. So, Howard, are you going to play a bit more this coming year? Malcolm
