  1. Not so, I'm afraid, Myles. I have a late EU3 cylinder head and it was necessary to drill and tap a hole for a manual tensioner. Malcolm
  2. yep! that's exactly what happened to my Audi (at the main dealer). ☹️
  3. Skip Is there any significant wear on the splines for the removeable s/w boss? Do you know if this is compatible with a lower column on a 94 car? Thanks Malcolm Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 9 Feb 2007 13:58:20

  5. Billyboy I'd advise against this, I usually refit my drain plug up with PTFE tape. Do not overtighten (or threadlock) as some people have had difficulty in undoing it, resulting a damaged tank. malcolm
  6. Critical to check the liner heights. Speak to Dave Andrews (oily) for precise measurements. I think up to 0.004" proud of cylinder block deck, but I expect someone will be along with to correct me Malcolm
  7. I can recommend the Richard Price garage *thumbup* You might even get a glimpse of his sprint/hillclimb trophy cabinet 😬 😬 BUT don't leave your spag bol lunch unattended as his dog is VERY hungry
  8. Anybody travelling past Dave Andrews to N Wales/Cheshire/Merseyside/Lancs in the near future able to collect set of pistons/rods? Malcolm
  9. Hello Kipper You just make sure you have your foot firmly on that brake pedal all the time between April and September
  10. Stu probably a fiver in a breakers yard off a Rover 214!
  11. There is nothing like arriving back at your paddock slot at a wind/rain swept Aintree to find your 'good deal' pop up is a wet crumpled heap...... ☹️. Next time I'll spend a bit more on one!
  12. The earlier chassis ('94) has a threaded boss for the upper radius arm fixing. The near side is prone to loosening. No problem, but just check its security from time to time. Malcolm
  13. The coolant leaks from the head/coolant rail joint and runs forward along the cylinder head/block joint and appears at the front of the engine (and downwards as in Angus' photos). The cause is the water rail fixings being too long and bottom out in their holes. Shorten the bolts and fit a new gasket with Hylomar. Malcolm
  14. Hey Paul, you made a good wine waiter today... Have a on me 😬 Malcolm
