  2. Thank you, Peter C I can confirm the extra venting from the catch tank. This is vented under the car and causes no problem. Im probably being dim, but is there really any need to change the setup? Is it causing harm or detracting from performance? Malcolm
  3. Help!!!! I currently run CC's DS system on a 1400 forward facing supersport system and I simply left the cam cover vents as they were (front one to throttle body, rear to plenum chamber and the swirl tower vents to the catch tank). Seems to work ok,is this OK? Sorry for the hijack! Malcolm

  11. Griff You must use the timing mark on the front rim of the pulley, align it with the cam cover mark at 12 oclock. This will be 90 BTDC. Safe starting point is the inlet retarded 10 deg and the exh advanced 10 deg. Malcolm Edit to add: You will need to transfer the timing marks from the std pullies to the verniers, this is detailed on Dave 's web page. Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 27 Dec 2007 16:52:11
  12. Adrian and Dave Thanks for the advice. I will use a piece of hard wood to jamb the pump. I guess reassembly of pump afterwards is easy? I must think before using thread lock I must think before using thread lock I must think before using thread lock I must thin........100 times Malcolm
  13. I am trying to remove a K series gold scavenge pump, but the pulley retaining bolt simply turns the pump rotor when the pulley is prevented from rotating I did assemble, probably in error in retrospect but I was worried about it coming loose, with some thread lock How do I stop the pump from rotating? Thanks! Malcolm
  14. So a lightened flywheel, Graham? Not worth it, probably only worth 0.1 sec Malcolm
  15. My son's VX Corsa 1.0 (horrid nasty 3 cylinder engine) has an ECU fault code p0170 fuel trim malfunction. The man at the garage tells me this may be caused by faulty fuel injector or possibly or possibly a leaking inlet valve ( thus affecting the shape/quality of fuel spray). Car seems to run perfectly. Anybody out there familiar with this engine and fault code? Is the man at the garage speaking sense or bullsh@t? Malcolm
