  1. Martin 2nd dibs please. (I'll be at all remaining events, but I don't want to queue jump!) Malcolm
  2. No drain plug on a standard 5 speed unless modifiedby BGH
  3. Danny, class 1 is definitely good fun this year, with plenty of banter (esp from that man Neil 😬). Also, we will give you a warm welcome on the track, especially from that Mr Ward....... 😬 😬 Malcolm Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 30 Jul 2008 23:27:13
  4. Neil Had you fooled, just like the brown trout I caught on Sunday evening who mistook my dry daddy longlegs for the real thing 😬 Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 29 Jul 2008 23:12:16
  5. Neil, I know you shaved 5 secs off your time, but 5 kg of water at each corner is taking corner weighting a bit far 😳
  6. I think Mr Spencer had an off at Loton...... Glad to see my name doesn't appear, although I did have a spin at Curb But Harewood is yet to come, and I do like the cross country bit at the Esses
  7. I hear Mr Price always carries several spare dedion ears....
  8. Ok, so what have they done to the left hand entry kerb since last year (see finals)? My sump is scarred enough from the last visit, without the kerb made higher Anybody been to Harewood this year who can feed back ? (and yes Jon Ward, I know you were there last week) 😬
  9. I can recommend Raceline for this.
  10. spolit my bacon butty breakfast the following day too!!
  11. Tom, thanks DVA thinks one possibility is a poor quailty seal. He's come across some seals that have poor manufacturing tolerances (not necessarily for K engines). I fitted this seal last winter during an engine refresh and it came in an unfamiliar gasket set from my local motor factor. You only get what you pay for 😳 Malcolm
  12. Stu yes I saw that thread, I'm uncertain if a cause was found?
  13. ☹️ When it pops out at 7k rpm it certainly makes alot of smoke and a right mess Blatchat searches suggest possible causes: damage/crack in oil pump seal housing, damaged seal lip, damaged crank shaft, thrashing before the oil fully hot, faulty oil pressure relief valve. I may have thrashed it abit too soon before the oil was fully hot 😳 The seal itself looks perfect. Any other possible causes? The set up is a 1400 supersport, dry sump. The engine has retained the standard venting system ie fresh filtered air from TB to cam cover and the other cam cover vent to plenum. The DS tower vented to catch tank. Could this possibly lead to engine pressurisation? Need to be resolved before Loton Park next Saturday Thanks Malcolm
  14. All 1400 owners who have gone 1800 TB.....you must have one lying around
  15. I got my confirmation of a place at Aintree by return, so get the forms on line Malcolm
  16. Will make life difficult if not impossible to do it the way you suggest. If you've got that far, remove the engine. You will need to retorque thw bellhousing to g/box bolts. Why are you replacing the gasket? If there is an oil leak, it will be coming from the forward end of the selector rod where it appears at the front of the gearbox. Clean the area and simply refit with some RTV or such like instant gasket around the selector rod Malcolm
  17. Ash, Rich thanks but the later type is not what Im after, as they use an IACV for the idle control, rather than a motor to push the throttle open or shut. Neil, I saw that one, and it has a plastic housing rather than an all metal construction like mine, so I wasn't sure! I was hoping for an ex Caterham one, then I'd be sure (and not break any sprint rules!)
  18. as title, anyone got one gathering dust in their garage? Malcolm
  19. Was thinking of doing a dual drive with my son in his chav car, but prehaps practice in the seven might be more sensible
  20. Thanks Nigel, I have got the regs now Malcolm
  21. Simon CC sent me those fan mounting adapters with the new radiator. You will also need some spacers for the rad to chassis mount, otherwise the fan will foul the ARB. Again CC included these when they sent the rad. Malcolm
