  1. The new National circuit is a chance to play at the only remaining part (and best bit) of the original Ty Croes circuit -School
  2. Here is a clip of the International sprint layout:here
  3. Surely, this should be 'I am doing Anglesey.......' You cannot possibly miss these two events ......Daughter aged 1 will never hold it against you... Malcolm Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 16 Sep 2008 13:45:08
  4. Congratulations to Jon Ward and Neil for for a superb final runs and especially Jon's class win and hill record for class 1 Congratulations to all class winners and and thanks to Richard for the advice when walking the hill in the morning . Looks like Anglesey is going to be a battle ground for classes 1 and 2( I think Mike and I should get an age related time advantge for being over 50 ) Simon, glad you're ok, hope to see your car back next year Malcolm
  5. The power gain is pretty minimal, and you'll loose the free reving characteristics of the 1600ss. There is, however, a small gain in torque. The 1600ss and 1800ss cars in classes 2 and 3 in the L7C sprint competition are very evenly matched. For the cost, I would spend it on something else. Malcolm
  6. Richard, you are 73 , I'm 74 and Judith is 74A
  7. Paul I know what you mean......then there's the cost One quiet weekday afternoon I escaped from work not expecting anybody. I had a succession of visitors all requiring a cheque. The farrier, then the vet followed by the moblie saddle repairs, then finally the hay delivery. The worst bit was then having to unload a 100 bales (admittedly most were for my wife's sheep 😳.....) Life is simpler now with a yard full of cars 😬 Malcolm Paul B good luck with the sale, have a BTTT on me Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 11 Sep 2008 19:58:18
  8. Wont be leaving N Wales until atleast 1830 so we might miss the pub ☹️
  9. Plenty of trailer room at the bottom, hill usually cleared quickly while drivers share a beer at the beer tent.
  10. I guess i'm one of the lucky few who has been able to sell a horsebox (the horse wouldn't go in it ) to fund my caterham trailer 😬 Malcolm
  11. Top paddock is a small grassed enclosure and the woods are nearby....what else do you want? (thats why I hate camping)
  12. this letter business for the dual drives is a bit of a pain. (and the regs remind us to use tidy lettering)
  13. 😬 ( I had a suggestion for the caption but SWMBO said it was too crude 😳)
  14. Maybe the asking price is wrong Malcolm
  15. When I had an Apollo tank, I fitted the sender with PTFE tape and didn't need to do it up very tightly Malcolm Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 9 Sep 2008 11:40:23
  16. Jon 😬 😬 😬 *thumbup* Need any help with the directions to Wiscombe, as it's quite difficult to find when you leave the last exit from the M6 Malcolm
  17. Andrew But dont forget only 2 weeks ago at Marshall's sprint I was also beaten by the boy Alastair, so I know how you must be feeling.......... Malcolm
  18. Al, I don't think there are any takers for the trowel. Well done to Jon for comprehensively thrashing the rest of class one and getting to within 9/100th (or thereabouts) of the class record Also to Matt for his victory over Andrew (always nice to beat someone in their car 😬) and to Neil for improving by 6 sec over last years time (hope the insurance industry isn't too busy today with the floods, Neil). Looking forward to a damp/wet Wiscombe. Who else from class 1 will be there? Malcolm
  19. Sandy Lay the sump on the kitchen table ( 😳) with the sump flange upwards and clamp/peg a wet sump gasket on top correctly lined up with bolt holes. Using a small tack hammer carefully tap out the shape of the sump flange on the gasket. Then remove the inner portions of the gasket with snips or heavy duty sissors (thegasket is a metal sandwich) and job done! Easier to do than describe! Ive run mine like this for trouble /leak free 2 years, and no messing about with sealant, and the gasket is reuseable. Malcolm
  20. I use a wet sump gasket modified by cutting to the shape of the dry sump flange. Seems to work well and is leak free
  21. Thanks Neil, and just remember about that brown trout I caught the other week...... 😬 Good luck Danny
  22. Danny would that be the 1800 with the ported head When and where is your first race? Malcolm
