  4. These can be horribly corroded ☹️. Make sure the area is soaked for a good period of time with release oil eg WD40 and use a good quality hexagonal socket. Take care to have it square on the bolt, as you say the head is thin. I carefully used a an extended bar to undo.
  5. Have a good summer, and see you at Curbs. Glad to hear you are not spending the money on DIY/home improvements instead! Malcolm
  6. - correct. This is removeable and I have seen these partially blocked.
  7. If standard Type 9 5 speed: 3.36,1.81,1.26, 1.0, 0.83 (ie awful!).
  8. None. Considering the job it does and the consequences of a failure, replace it Malcolm

  10. Mike, I'm glad that has irritated you ever since
  11. Brooklands aeroscreens with standard scuttle band (ie not covering the wiper holes) complete with chrome mirrors. Has 3 scratch marks on the scuttle band, but otherwise in good condition, just requiring a good clean. £230 plus cost of post and insurance, or pick up/GONADS. Please Blatmail if you require photos. Malcolm
  12. I have purchased an exhaust manifold now, so Im out of the running for this. Thanks
  13. Stu You know my answer - it looks even worse now
  14. Out of the top 7 final standings in class 3 all used this tyre except myself and Mark Gibson. Im not sure who had soft or supersoft. (and Mike Sankey had a BIG engine) Malcolm Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 10 Dec 2009 20:37:21
  15. Andrew Clearly, you are frustrated by the driveshaft failure. This obviously is a rather unusual failure. But I think it is only fair to allow CC to examine the driveshaft, and to determine the cause, before posting on here in such a negative way. 16. and From memory, in the 3 rail 2000E gearbox those springs each preload a ball bearing that in turn preloads a horizontal pin in each of the three selector rails. This is part of the interlock mechanism that would noramlly prevent engagement of two gears simultaneously. Driving the car in this state you could completely destroy the gearbox, bigtime *eek* malcolm
  17. Depends which rack. If you have the earlier Mini derived rack you will need the rack stops. If you have the later one (Titan made with 'Caterham' cast on the top) I don't think the rack stops are necessary. malcolm
  18. If by chance the first two drop out, yes please! Malcolm
