  1. David Don't risk it. No tax = class 6. I tried it and the judge wasn't happy. (But I had a lousy brief 😬. )
  2. Hi Stu Let me know when your are able to do my new wings Malcolm
  3. Soft will be too soft for trackdays, unless you stop every 2-3 laps!
  4. ...with plenty of penetrating oil if they're like mine were ❗
  5. Chris Correct I use an aluminium washer, but I think a standard copper sump washer would do. Not sure about an o ring. Malcolm
  6. I'd be inclined to wire with the resistor. I think it's there as a safety feature should the switch be used in anger and the alternator is going full speed.....but I expect someone will be along soon to be abit more precise!
  7. I have a pair of chrome headlights off a 94 car if that is any use. Good condition, blatmail me if your interested or want photos. Malcolm
  8. Hi SD If you blat mail me I can send some photos Malcolm
  9. Yes thanks, I gathered the powder coat is not a good base. Loads was peeling off, so Ive stripped all the areas to be covered back to bare metal.
  10. I guess it just depends how long you want it to stay on the rust.
  11. Charlie Im just about to do this. The instructions suggest if applied to rusted or bare metal use their degreaser POR Marine Clean and followed by POR Metal Ready, followed by a surface wash with water then apply POR15. If sandblasted, POR15 can be directly applied. Recoat when dry to touch but slight 'finger drag', usually 2-6 hours. Malcolm
  12. Guy The K series engine was originally designed for use in urban/town environments with short journeys. This requires a rapid warm up to give better economy and emissions. I understand that putting the thermostat on the inlet side, with the bulb exposed to the secondary circuit, a more rapid warm up can be achieved. It is debateable whether that is desirable in other applications, such as in a Caterham/MGF/Elise. QED do a nice (expensive) thermostat housing if one wishes to move it to the top hose.
  13. Robin I disagree with all the replies above. You'll be much quicker with the original cam timing. Malcolm
  14. Thanks BIO. I knew it was something/16 ths 😳
  15. The capheads on my 94 car are 7/16" ( i think) but I needed a narrower head than on the later lower wishbone. Speak to Darren in CC parts, he sorted mine out for me 2 or 3 years ago.
  16. Works a treat 😬 but I would remove 'less resistance' and replace with 'no resistance' and add 'cancel new kitchen' 😬 😬 Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 6 Feb 2010 12:03:03
  17. Try Dartford composites. £10 per side cheaper than CC. http://www.dartfordcomposites.co.uk/
  18. Mic YHM regarding the fire extinguisher Malcolm
