  1. Paul The k series retains a large quantity of oil in the engine, partly due to the capacity of the scavenge pump compared to the pressure pump and partly due to its design, compounded by a single sump pick up at the rear. That 4.5 l belltank capacity then gets low under some circumstances. eg under heavy braking Malcolm
  2. Kevin My 6 year old steel bodied ones have been back to AVO....low price and rapid turnaround. Malcolm
  3. Ok thanks I wondered about the effect on bump steer. I 'll probably will try with and without.....I bet they wont make me any faster up Loton Park ( as there are too many other driver related variables ) Malcolm
  4. The build manual refers to an 8mm spacer that is inserted onto the upright above the lower spherical bearing. I can see this will alter the angle of the wishbones relative to each other. What effect , if any, does it have in car handling ? Do many people run without it? My car is 94 K series, ie pre anti dive geometry. Malcolm
  5. For dedion 94 chassis (ie pre anti dive geometry). I am currently using AVOs for narrow track (12.5 inches fully extended) and I want to specify the correct top rod end for widetrack(they offer rod ends that will be 14mm, 21mm or 28mm longer than that for narrow track). What length is the CC supplied Bilstein damper extension (CC parts online doesn't state the length of the extension) ?
  6. Engine - probably nothing. Tried selling mine as a boat anchor and still no takers 😳 Standard exhaust manifold - almost nothing Bellhousing - sold mine for £120 ☹️
  7. Hmm..I must admit mine seems fine, but of an unknown mileage. The cost of a failure v. the cost of a new bearing! I think I'll try and get a replacement. Thanks for the detail, Stu Malcolm
  8. Where can I get a new bearing for the tensioner pulley - does CC supply one? (Sorry for the hijack, Stu 😳 - just so happens I have mine in bits on the bench at the moment)
  9. Jon woops! just re read your question..... Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 9 Nov 2010 10:13:33
  10. Ahhh! Wegberg hospital and RAF Bruggen...that brings back many many happy memories of RAF doctoring and back seat rides in the Jaguar T bird! Sad to hear Bruggen is closing ☹️
  11. Jason Just buy new wings from time to time....... Malcolm
  12. Correct! Rob Spencer won class 2....and what a time by Chris
  13. Matt I have the earlier type for a 1400 so I dont think will fit. If you are in N Wales try Clive Kenrick at Llangollen 01978 861382, He will have one for sure and he'll fit it while you wait. Malcolm
  14. Jon You just make sure you stick with those 15" wheels for next year......... Malcolm
  15. Rob I guess it depends where you have the job done. An Arch fitted panel, the holes will pick up the existing holes in the chassis (well 99% of them - I had to fit a few that were missed). I think he uses a jig for this.
  16. POR 15 chassis paint is best applied either directly to rusty steel or bare uncorroded steel If the latter, use the POR system - POR Marine clean degrease/POR metal ready/POR 15 chassis paint. Any traces of old hammerite or powdercoating makes a poor base for POR15. Make sure if you strip the old hammerite/powder coat all traces of paint stripper are throughly removed with the marine clean as it reacts with the POR 15 system. Guess how I know
  17. So what's the sneaky plan, then Paul? Malcolm
  18. Duncan Im not far from Shropshire over Offa's Dyke in Ruthin if you need any help..Ive got loads of rivnuts/plastic screws etc Malcolm
  19. 2 places for us for Saturday night Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 19 Sep 2010 23:23:15
  20. Nose locates under crossmember above knees (mine requires a strip of foam added to make it a tight fit) and there are 2 set screws at the rear.
