  1. Paul may be correct. Coolant collecting in (a) cylinder(s) when switched off. Either a HGF or a coolant leak from the inlet manifold gasket (plastic inlet manifold).
  2. BOBT These bearings are consumable items and just require changing from time to time. I replace them every 2 years (about 15 k miles).
  3. What is the source of the plastic pulley in your picture? Is is a standard Rover item? Malcolm
  4. Resurrecting this thread.... I replaced the pulley bearing and this is appears to have more play than the one it replaced....CC are out of stock of the complete pulley. Is the standard Rover air con tensioner pulley a direct replacement?
  5. Lucky that I'm starting this year with a newly painted car AND a covered trailer...just so that I will have a clean car at each event for any new prizes for shiny cars (except that I have scratched it already ☹️) Malcolm Edited to add Thanks Gnasher2 Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 22 Feb 2011 00:34:34

  9. Ian (Mr Locust) Ah! But! I didnt spend £124+vat.....alot cheaper secondhand . Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 17 Feb 2011 21:18:43
  10. .....Metro circuit. Which incidentally was difficult to fill in production due to airlocking..... My original 1400 with the standard thermostat position was extremely difficult to fill due to airlocks, compared to my later 1800 engine with the identical circuit. This I believe was due the closed deck block/liner construction of the earlier engine. Now have a QED and this works well, and makes the coolant fill easy!
  11. Hi Stu and Stu! Stu McG - If I met you on Sunday on the A55 and if you were to meet Stu F off the M56 at Culcheth (?sp)...Stu F if then you pass it on to LADS. How does that sound?
  12. Chris Was that the one that wouldn't start your car at Curbs a couple of years ago? Malcolm
  13. Looking to move a steering rack from N Wales to Lytham St Annes Lancs for Mark Harrison. Any help would be gratefully received Thank you Malcolm Edit to correct awful spelling Edited by - englishmaninwales on 23 Jan 2011 23:00:03
  14. Chris Ive just converted and I shall start with 2-2-2....Did you fit the 8mm upright spacer above the lower wishbone spherical joint? Opinion seems to vary.. Malcolm Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 20 Jan 2011 21:32:51
  15. Chris A single self tapper method is very easy, just take your time and drill carefully. The Rover manual says to put the seal in dry. BUT make sure you use a genuine seal rather than a cheapie. I have had trouble with an underside (front crank) seal, from a motor factor, that fell out.......makes a real mess at 7k rpm Malcolm
  16. Jason BGH advised me to screw it in finger tight then remove to view the oil level. Top mark for road and bottom for track use. Im afraid I don't know the oil capacity for the alloy case g/b Malcolm
  17. Mine were specified by Gary May (Freestyle)
  18. 435mm +/- 1mm, centre of eye to eye, fully extended. Malcolm
  19. I have AVOs on a 94 car with through the DD tube mounting, currently off the car so I will measure them tomorrow Malcolm
  20. Richard Indeed, but I understood from DA that whilst the gold pump was better, but still is somewhat suspect in capacity, but I'm no expert on this!!...
