  1. The CC instructions I had advised using silicone sealant when fitting the sump pan (see para 3a v). The sump is best fitted with anaerobic sealant rather than silicone.
  2. Yep, the early 1400 has a different fixing for oil pick up! Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 19 Apr 2012 23:32:05
  3. My experience is that it depends on the type of car. I rarely have been asked for the V5 /MOT/insurance for the Caterham. However in my 205 gti I have been asked at every event. I assume the scrutineers consider me to be a chav in the 205 and a law abiding citizen in the Caterham 😬
  4. These screens are ok for track and competition use. On the road they are cr@p (without a helmet) compared to traditional Brooklands. You'll get peppered with grit.
  5. Quoting Matthew Willoughby: Here we go then! Testing (well, the track day) went well yesterday, the car behaved itself, it stayed dry and Mark and I had fun. Remarkably I've had a good night's sleep and I'm ready to go. Hopefully I'll see some of you later. I'm in car 82, black with a white stripe
  6. If you blatmail me I'll send some photos this evening
  7. Thanks Nigel The only one I can see on PH is a wet sump?
  8. As title, preferably the later type with a drain.
  9. The original Lotus twincam (as in this example) were 1558cc, based on a 5 bearing Ford block, and capable up to about 1700cc in an advanced state of tune. The later Lotus twin cam, based on a Vauxhall/GM block, was 2 litre capacity. Dunno about the car from those pictures. Only a handful of genuine Lotus S3 had a factory fitted twincam.
  10. Jeff I have sent you a Blatmail Malcolm
