  1. Quoting Roger Ford: Thanks. I'll give that a try. But if it doesn't work then presumably I need either diff or gearbox out? Roger If you decide to remove the propshaft take the diff out....If you remove the gearbox you'll be wasting your time, as the propshaft can only be removed from the rear. (On a dedion car - maybe you have a live axle, about which I have no idea!) Malcolm
  2. They go into threaded bosses on my car (94 dedion)

    Shelsey

Yup! Not before time too. Considering all the utter b@llox spouted on the Uphill Racers forum last year about modifications to the bank ruining the heritage of Shelsley, I'm glad they have now done the right thing. You never know, Richard, they may even find your 'missing' wheel and hub assembly 😬 Malcolm
  4. Looks like the lower half of mine is cracked..again ☹️ Been repaired before so I'm looking for a replacement if anyone has one lying around since their upgrade Thanks Malcolm Edited to add: this is the earlier cast aluminium manifold Edited by - englishmaninwales on 12 Feb 2013 13:44:00 Edited by - englishmaninwales on 12 Feb 2013 13:45:08
  5. Hi Mark Are these still available? YHM
  6. Paul I have a friend who lives 5 miles from R+R and travels regularily between North Wales and there. If you get it to me I can arrange the transfer. Malcolm
  7. Ok Mark. Please let me know if you change your mind. Money waiting for you Malcolm
  8. If you are willing to split I will take the LHS? Malcolm
  9. Tom Method 2 will 'do' but the crank cambelt sprocket is a lousy fit and you will loose the 'exact' timing that you had prior. If you want to borrow my dial gauges and mounts to do the job or bring your car here just let me know. Malcolm
  10. I treat the standard Rover flywheel bolts as once only. They are not expensive but rather frustratingly, they are supplied in packs of ten.
  11. Quoting ECR: Do I remember a bad batch of bearings circulating (or was that rear hubs ?) There was a faulty batch of rear hub bearings about 4-5 years ago. Malcolm
  12. POBC Still good for VDO spares and excellent service. Same phone number
  13. Another one for Kelcoat - did a good job nylon coating all my suspension parts.
  14. When I refurbished my chassis I stripped off the remaining powdercoat with nitromors and repainted using the POR system and got a very good finish. The marine clean is vital as is the etch coat. This then gets washed in wate prior to the black top coat. I did have a problem in 2 or 3 areas where the top coat reacted with something, possibly unwashed etch or even traces of the nitromors, that required repainting. With an ordinary brush the POR top coat dries to a very hard shiny durable finish. Note it is not UV stable, so I used the alternative POR top coat on small areas exposed around the front suspension pick ups. Alot of hard work compared to shot blasting and re -powdercoating, but I wasn't in a rush.
  15. Mankee thanks, I had contact from Stu last night
  16. Stu I resent the email as no reply Malcolm
  17. I too had thoughts about this type of car for hillclimbing but I echo Richard's comment about front end impact survivability... My frontal shunt in October was nothing like as severe as Richard's, but nevertheless I wouldn't be sure my lower limbs would have survived in a Jedi in a similiar crash ☹️
  18. Richard Good news indeed! I'm hoping to visit Arch in the New Year
  19. Quoting sforshaw: But why bother Nothing wrong with a well-rebuilt K. Stu. .....I'd add well built, ensuring good quality selected components, especially the cylinder head. I have two engines with porosity problems ☹️
