  1. In addition to the above, it is really helpful if you remove the boot floor. If you want to try without the ARB just remove a drop link ( provided you remember to put it back on at MOT time).
  2. I can recommend Clive and Robert Kenrick at Llangollen. They did a fine job on repainting my car plus various small jobs and all the MOTs over the last 10 years.
  3. Easy, I have a spare used one somewhere, or new from Rimmer Bros. Edited to add it will just pull off when you have taken the tenion off the blet. Just make sure you have not damaged its seat on the end of the crank. Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 17 Mar 2013 14:03:26
  4. Sorry for the hijack - just about to do this but starting with a virgin sideskin with no hole or template for a 421 type manifold. I don't have the original skin as very crumpled ☹️. Im looking for a reference point for the centre to start - can any one measure theirs for me ? Also what is the best tool for enlarging the hole? (I have a dremel and a 3mm drill attached nibbler).
  5. 4 MB magnesium black centre wheels with polished rims. Ford PCD. They are all in excellent condition. The two rears are 8" (5.5" special order inner and 2.5" outer) and the fronts are 6.5" (5" inner and 1.5" outer). The two rears and one front were cracked tested and refurbished 5 years ago and have only had limited road use and 1 season hillclimbing/sprinting. The remaining front wheel is just back from MB having been built up from a refurbished, crack tested, second-hand centre along with new inner and outer rims. The rears will fit earlier dedion (with through tube lower damper fittings) with about 1-2 mm removed from the rear edge of the endplate of the tube, and are suitable for later dedion tube £750. Collection or courier if buyer arranges pick up. I can help with delivery. reasonable distances from N Wales, by separate agreement.
  6. Powervamp 25 Racing battery 18amp/hr new unfitted here £75 (normally £94) collection or GONADS (not sure if this can be sent?) Battery master switch kit as supplied by Caterham new unfittedhere £35 (normally £54) plus P+P SOLD Pair of Piper vernier cam sprockets suit K series. These are the earlier type without the hardened rim. Evidence of wear but serviceable. £30 plus P+P SOLD Edited by - englishmaninwales on 14 Mar 2013 15:14:51 Edited by - englishmaninwales on 18 Mar 2013 10:35:21
  7. Alan When I upgraded 1400> 1800 I just used the original FPR, and only upgraded the injectors. Seemed to work fine although might be a problem if your car is post 2000 and requires emissions MOT. Malcolm
  8. [pQuote]Why does it need both a filter and a catch tank connection to the cam cover? Stu. The rear vent is connected to TB airbox and draws filtered air in (or from TB on old supersport plenum) and the front vent blows out, safest place is to the catch tank. Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 6 Mar 2013 13:21:25
  9. Stu Run it vented. If TBs, then front vent to catch tank. Rear vent filtered air in. Swirl tower vent to catch tank. If plenum, front vent to plenum rather than catch tank. Fix the catch tank low down on chassis and vent under car. Run these ways for years, no probs Edit to add: vacuum/partial vacuum in crankcase must surely reduce the ability of the scavenge pump to work efficiently. Remember this is a poorly designed DS system, it requires ALL components to be at maximal performance to lessen the risk of oil starvation Edited by - Englishmaninwales on 6 Mar 2013 12:28:15
  10. Chris My plumbed in one is like Stu's, in the boot. I fitted mine to the wooden section up against the bulkhead. For security I added extra fittings for the wood section to the car. All remained in place when deceleration tested in anger last October!
  11. I have a pair of unused TR arms to suit narrow track if you are not sorted.
  12. I have one if you are not sorted? Malcolm
  13. Correct, the notched end of the gasket goes adjacent to the coolant outlet.
  14. Medium weight cotton suitable for soft furnishings e.g. sofa covers, curtains. Sage green with small regularily spaced buff star/spot. 20m roll width 1.49m repeat 8cm. This was purchased to make 2 sets of loose sofa covers but SWMBO changed her mind about the colour and the rest of the room. £220 + courier costs, but best collection or I'm happy to meet at reasonable distance (N Wales) for a fuel contribution. I can send a photo or a small sample.
