  1. From my experience this is likely to be an air lock. I’ve had that several times over the last 20 years and never had a failed stat. You can remove the stat and fit a top hose stat as you suggest - QED supply a kit, if slightly expensive and requires correct plumbing of it’s bypass hose, but it works fine and makes coolant refills much easier. Thr bottom hose is unchanged, plumbed from the radiator to the existing black stat housing. The original stat is removed and replaced with a steel ring, comes with the QED stat kit. 82 deg stat is just fine. Malcolm
  2. Try Turbo Technics - they now hold the AVO business after they went bust. They may be able to make up a pair for you. Very good customer service, they recently refurbished a pair for me / much bettef than the original AVO company
  3. Kmaps.co.uk will uprate your ECU (EU3 only) and keep it MOT compliant. This keeps the existing 1800 configured withVVC mechs. But 160 is as far as you can go keeping this configuration
  4. The EU3 VVC with K Maps ECU gives a nice upgrade circa 160bhp..
  5. You just wait, Tony, until you’re an OAP like some of us😂
  6. Maybe a separate forum heading “Listed For Sale On Other Locations” to allow sellers to list on eBay and the like and for alerts for items for sale?
  7. Great day Sunday, thank you to the organising team. Thanks too to all for the help in getting my fuel pump going despite a further failure. Investigations ongoing!
  8. I’ve had terrible stuff from Burton over the years, the worst were twin cam engine block oil gallery plugs that were BSP rather than NPT…twin cam new timing chest castings that were seriously inaccurate. But worse still was their attitude to it!
  9. Hi Dom, In addition to the other checks suggested, take look at the main engine loom power supply - there is a brown to purple spade connector in the loom bundle just behind the dry sump tower. Well known for being loose and causing engine drop in/out. Malcolm
  10. Hi Mo, apologies for the late reply, yes these are still available. Malcolm
  11. Well done Lewis for 2 class wins, 2 records and FTD on Sunday.
  12. Hi Adam, Yes, there has been a discussion and bookings, have a look through the ‘Anglesey’ thread below. Malcolm
  13. Indeed. I replied to the email earlier today expressing a similar view. Malcolm
