  2. "BTW Recommend Tanya for batteries." Thankyou, but: ; - ) Jonathan
  3. "My Accumate is now 15 years old. I note that the latest version(link is external) is labelled as AGM, GEL and STD, whereas mine states just STD -- due to its age, no doubt?" Yes. For anyone buying a smart conditioning charger make sure that it has enough oomph for the biggest battery on which you're going to use it and enough modes for all of them. Nowadays that will probably include AGM and might include lithium. Jonathan
  4. "JMT HJTX20H-FP Li-on for me hooked to a NOCO conditioner Battery weighs 1.4kg Handles a 13:1 CR Duratec with ease." Manufacturer claimed CCA: 420 A. Current price: £187 https://www.elitemotorcycleservices.co.uk/HJTX20H-FP-JMT-Lithium-ion-battery Jonathan
  5. Hadn't seen that one! But I would appreciate more suggestions and experiences with lithium batteries to add to these. I'm sure that there must be more Members who have switched... Jonathan
  6. I wouldn't choose to use an unsealed battery in any car. Jonathan
  7. Good morning. I think that's all covered in "What's the best battery these days?". And I've answered over there. Happy to receive supplementaries. : - )` Jonathan
  8. "So, whats the best replacement that fits straight in. I looked at PVR25/PC680 GEL BATTERY is this a good alternate to Banner and will it fit size and cable wise." The PVR25 and PC680 are AGM type, not gel type. Current (!) suppliers. Many of us find them very suitable for use in Sevens. (But take the opportunity to consider whether you'd prefer a lithium battery.) You'll probably need to bend the strap or fit a new cage. But the PC535 fits the original tray, I suggest checking first. You'll probably need different length thick cables and may need terminal adaptors. If you don't have access to a suitable crimper it's wise to buy complete cables with the right ends. If you use a smart conditioning charger make sure that it has an AGM mode. Jonathan
  9. My Joe Blow track pump has a double-ended head: Presta and Schrader. (As does my brilliant Lezyne Micro Floor Drive.) I use a separate analogue gauge, as discussed recently elsewhere. But it stays in the garage except for track days. Jonathan
  10. Self-cancelling ± adjustable timing ± brake pedal connected ± audible warning dongles are available in the motorbike world. Jonathan
  11. I couldn't find a wiring diagram from that thread, but if it's the same thing we can wake it up and see if anyone's still around... Jonathan
  12. What's the highest pressure that you need? How portable? And would you consider a compressor combined with one of those amazing little lithium battery jump starters? Jonathan
  13. The typical answer in these parts is 5 or 6y, unless you know that they've been kept in the most protective conditions. Jonathan
  14. Discussion from 2019, with how to do it at home. And a friendly MoT place will probably be happy for you to use their kit. Jonathan

  16. I suggest starting with GTKY7 4: "Front wheel bearings". Jonathan
  17. Edited: Crossed with Andrew's. Tool: Tiny screwdriver. Will you need to do any new crimping? Jonathan
  18. Welcome. Have you got all of the documentation that you need: Assembly Guides, Handbooks, wiring diagrams? Please let me know if you'd like anything. Jonathan
  19. According to Shaun's list for an Imperial chassis that's 1/2" bolt diameter. But what are the bolt heads? You describe them as "cap head" but then say "socket size". Do you need a male hex key or a socket? Jonathan
  20. Thanks for the details and the photos. Jonathan
  21. Which chassis? Sizes and torque settings are in Shaun's bolt list. (That's a downloadable Excel file.) Please let me know if you'd like the appropriate Assembly Guide. Jonathan
  22. This thread so useful that I've bounced it. NB now also COVID stuff. Jonathan
