  1. You can't delete posts or threads... that takes an Administrator. You can delete the content of a post. You can change the Subject of a thread that you started by editing it in the first post. Jonathan
  2. Using Android? Known problem when posting. Jonathan
  3. In my 1998 1800 K I use: Coolant: Comma Xstream G30. Engine oil: Comma Motorsport Fully Synthetic 5W50 Motor Oil Jonathan PS: NB Club discount at Halfords.
  4. Unfortunately the experiences and recommendations are scattered all over the place. It might be worth looking at what's been written about Nankang NS-2Rs: /forum/techtalk/tyre-recommendation https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site:caterhamlotus7.club+nankang+ns2r https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site:caterhamlotus7.club+nankang+ns-2r Jonathan
  5. "The latest cars come with 42mm. Is the thread the same on both then?" I recommend the thread that Roger has linked to above. Jonathan
  6. I have the 1988 and 1996 Assembly Guides. Please let me know if you'd like copies. Jonathan
  7. Doesn't the photo show that? Jonathan
  8. Comparison photo. And a measurement... but I'm not sure which type it is... Jonathan
  9. A little light reading. Jonathan
  10. Previous discussions: /forum/techtalk/spark-plugs-8v-vx /forum/techtalk/what-spark-plugs-240bhp-vx /forum/techtalk/bpr6es-ngk-r-plugs-ok-vx-16v Jonathan
  11. And perhaps not all lengths of key are created equal! : - ) Jonathan
  12. An evaluation. I haven't gone through the metrology in detail... Jonathan
  13. How does a ring spanner help, please? I use a ratchet spanner with a lever that controls the direction. Jonathan
  14. Same as Dave connors. But NB the crucial choice of the type of ratchet spanner. If you use the sort that has to be reversed to go the other way you can get into the situation where the key can't be removed because it's up against the panel. Now imagine that the gearbox was overfilled at the post-build inspection and you didn't know... Jonathan PS: Or you can cut an access hole in the tunnel.
  15. Does it feel as if there's any slack/play before it does anything? And is the pedal firm or spongy when it does take effect? Fluid level OK in the reservoir? And do you know when the fluid was last changed? Jonathan
  16. Thanks for adding the solution. Jonathan
  17. What Piers says. There are several different approaches to making it easier to tighten and release the bolts: various tools, welding or otherwise fixing the nuts to the runners... but if you have a problem from where are you now how about cutting a transverse slot in the free end of the bolt and using a screwdriver to hold it still while you run the nut down? Usual soak in a penetrating fluid if needed. Jonathan
  18. What type of seat? Does the base come out? Does the release lever move at all? Jonathan
  19. Only by the calendar! Happy Birthday Jonathan
  20. "Sorry about the previous post wouldnt register from my samsung 21 obviously to old ." Known Android problem. Jonathan
  21. What engine and model? Any recent work on it? Has the engine been drowned recently? And not turning over on the starter at all? Nothing? No click? Measure battery voltage at rest and as you try to start and let us know. Check fluid levels in cells if appropriate. Check fuel pump and ECU fuses. When you turn the immobiliser off what does the light do? Check inertia switch connections and reset switch. You've got a multimeter. Would you like a wiring diagram? Separate starter button or on ignition switch? Check connections and if the latter wiggle the key as you try to start. Check relevant wires and connections: battery, ECU, starter, and relevant earths. Inspect, wiggle, disconnect, clean, reconnect. Jonathan
  22. Android 'phone? Please try replying to this. Jonathan
