  1. Four pages on not losing your hat when all around you... Jonathan
  2. The story of the UFO car. Jonathan PS: What's the shortest chain of connection to Lotus? :-)
  3. "The brake peddle doesn't feel that great - lots of travel. " Does that get better if you pump them? Jonathan
  4. Yes, mostly petrol-like. Jonathan
  5. The current MoT inspection manual. Jonathan
  6. Nail varnish remover used to be based on acetone. Ethyl acetate is now common. Acetone is probably the most overused solvent in car workshops, often in products such as brake cleaner. ... The last time that I looked I couldn't find any evidence that proprietary products sold for removing sticky residue were better than WD-40. Jonathan
  7. Autoglym Tar Remover contains xylene. That can strip surfaces and I always try and stay as low in the hierarchy of solvents as possible. Jonathan
  8. Gentle warmth and a length of dental floss used as a saw. If there's any residue then soak in WD-40 and try rolling it away from an edge rather than scraping. Jonathan
  9. "Is there an article etc I can give the garage on removal and sump gasket mod?" As above, and DVA sells modified gaskets. Jonathan
  10. Well done. Please could you add the part number of the replacement for the original 070514. That's going to help someone someday... :-) Jonathan
  11. Sorry, Colin. We were just discussing the appropriate portrayal of Banquo's ghost in Macbeth. (Tickets still available for Thursday!) Private Message received, please could you add your email address and I'll send the Assembly Guide, Handbook, and factory amendments. Welcome Jonathan
  12. I don't use the approach from the cockpit through the tunnel wall. But if I did I'd use a squeezy bottle with a long tube, warmed oil, and some rags in place. Jonathan
  13. Why the image rotation happens and how to avoid it. But am I still 90° out? Jonathan
  14. That doesn't sound like a healthy pump. But did you disconnect the existing feed before testing with the new jump feed and for continuity across the pump? Please can you expose the pump/ sender unit and post a photo. My first source for a new pump would be Redline. And Chris probably knows if more than one type was used on your model: sales@redlinecomponents.co.uk. Jonathan
  15. Is it EU2 or EU3? Jonathan PS: Andrew Revill's corrections to the factory EU2 diagram.
  16. fuse box.pdf 0900167 Sigma TA 2013 Chassis Harness Fuse Ident.dwg__0.pdf NB the absence of a lighting relay in the diagram! And I don't think that relay layout has been previously spotted in the wild except in an R500. Jonathan
  17. There are several different layouts on Sigmas. I think we've identified which this is and I'll post the diagrams when I get home. It does sound as if the lighting relay lives on its own above the steering column. Jonathan
  18. The layout of the relays and fuses varies between models, and there are at least three in SIgmas! It used to be in the Assembly Guide and is now in the Handbook. Except for the undocumented layout! If you'd like a copy please send me a Private Message with your email address. Jonathan
  19. Have you asked the company for their advice? Does it have to be drivable? At anything above walking speed? ... If you can't get the height as Andrew suggests then how about giant wheels? Or dollies? Jonathan
  20. And several other levellers (and cranes) in the Equipment Register. Jonathan
  21. I have: The Caterham Assembly Guide for the Ital axle, which includes some specific torque settings and their table for appropriate settings according to size of fastener. Weale's book. Then there are the two Low Flying articles: The Ital Axle debate - by Graham Sykes Compatibility of the Ital Axle with the British Leyland parts bin, by Elie Boone Jonathan
  22. Any engine lifting eyes/brackets to add to the register? There's one set for Duratecs but none for Ks or Sigmas. : - ( Thanks Jonathan
  23. Some hints and precautions when removing. Jonathan
  24. What version of the Assembly Guide do you have, please? The latest pictorial version I have is 2.1 and that includes: Jonathan
