  1. The size, torque and fastener pack code are in the 2015 Assembly Guide. Please let me know if you'd like a copy. Jonathan
  2. Experiences with and thoughts about the AR-1, but of course most of it was when the Avons were available. Jonathan
  3. Previous discussions of Nova and Caterham: I haven't seen anything more definitive than what's in those. Jonathan
  4. There are some suspension settings suggested by the factory in the Assembly Guide. Please let me know if you'd like a copy. And of course there are others suggested by others. : - ) Jonathan
  5. On clearance under the sump: "A widely recommended minimum is the ability to roll a Coke can under the lowest point. That's 66 mm. But there are many experiences in the archives describing 75 mm as being needed to clear obstacles." Jonathan
  6. Five years is often suggested. A little light reading. Jonathan
  7. Demon Tweeks or DIY or borrow: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site:caterhamlotus7.club+bilstein+spanner Jonathan
  8. It turns, fires normally, and then stops? And it has always done this? Does it being cold or hot make any difference? What's the battery voltage at rest, minimum while cranking, and at 3,000 rpm? Is the fuel new? Jonathan
  9. Private Message sent. Jonathan
  10. Thanks for the update. I once had a CTEK conditioning charger that appeared to complete the cycle but didn't charge the battery. The UK agent replaced it. Discussion of batteries for Sevens: Jonathan
  11. Do you already have a wiring diagram and other factory documentation? Please let me know if you need a copy. Jonathan
  12. Welcome There's quite a lot of useful advice in the archives: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site:caterhamlotus7.club+first+track+day Have you made any decisions about a helmet and insurance? How far will you have to drive to get there? Jonathan
  13. I don't know about modern Sevens, but slackening the engine mounts might allow some play at the gearbox mount. Jonathan
  14. Thanks This is about an app for diagnosing NVH issues. I haven't seen it before. https://vibratesoftware.com Jonathan
  15. Sure. And from the 3,000 rpm test we already know that the car's built-in charging system is up to scratch. That's why it's a good idea to include it asap. Jonathan
  16. That sounds good. Thanks for adding the voltage measurements. That load test is now giving over 10.5 V, which is the diagnostic threshold that I've been suggesting. And I suspect that the charging did make a difference. Jonathan
  17. It's known as the K series click, and there's a very long list of possible causes. I recommend searching using that term eg: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site:caterhamlotus7.club+k+click Do you have a multimeter and the relevant wiring diagrams? Is it the sort of battery where you can check the fluid levels, and if so is it topped up? What's the battery voltage at rest, and the minimum during the attempt to start? Do you have another battery or vehicle which you could use to jump start as a test? Check the wiring and the connections in all of the relevant circuits: battery, starter, engine earths. Jonathan
  18. The 2015 version of the text-rich Assembly Guide has 34 N m for the starter motor and this table: Jonathan
  19. Thanks for sharing the numbers. I'm surprised at that 10.35 V while cranking, and would be interested in what that is after charging. Jonathan
  20. That's a Smiths FET3. Probably these settings but let us know if that doesn't work. Jonathan
  21. Probably. Please could you add a photo of the face and the rear. Or the part number from the label. Jonathan
  22. Domestic washing-up liquid used to contain a lot of phosphate, and that was one of the reasons for not using it to clean cars. But it was removed from many detergents in order to reduce damage to aquatic environments. I don't know the details. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phosphates_in_detergent Jonathan
  23. Yes, this was stated in the recent online meeting with, IIRC a date. Jonathan
  24. Thankyou. "A lot better" sounds good to me. Jonathan
  25. Thanks for those. That's a lot better than looking towards the Seven! But I'd really like comparisons of old and new down the road... because that's what they're for. : - ) Jonathan
