  1. Same questions and one more: What else has changed? What's the specified temperature of the thermostat? At what temperature does the fan cut in? Thanks Jonathan
  2. Well done. Thanks for adding the solution. Jonathan
  3. For lithium batteries in Sevens in the cold: /comment/2140261#comment-2140261 Jonathan (There's also some numbers from James on the effects on lithium batteries in EVs.)
  4. "Sooo - just fitted the FIA switch PURELY to the ground cable from battery (yes I know there are better ways to fit it :) but want utter simplicity for my brain to cope) - which should kill the immobiliser drain. "My Q? is - if I flip the FIA switch to off, and therefore there's no Ground/ circuit could I attach the NOCO 2 and charge it safely without removing the battery cables or do I need to take them both off before charging, like the instructions say." Is there only the one earth (ground) cable from the battery? If there is and you've disconnected it with that switch and the conditioning charger is connected directly to the battery then removing any live cables from the battery wouldn't have any further effect. Jonathan
  5. "... fitted my Lion a short while ago it worked superbly." Which model, please? Thanks Jonathan
  6. "I don't know whether changing the wheels on a 360s will help, but there is definitely an issue with the ground clearance - it may depend where you live and the roads you drive on but I have just taken the corner off the sump on an undulating but smooth road in the Peak District. I wasn't pushing it that hard but have previously had a few 'clatters' elsewhere. Be interested in any other views/experiences/solutions on this" What's the clearance, please? Jonathan
  7. "Bit of a breakthrough...if I hold a steady throttle input when the temp rises at idle I can bring temps down to normal operating range within 20 seconds. That implies the coolant isn't circulating fast enough on its own so I think I am narrowing the issue down to thermostat or water pump." That is interesting. I was trying to think of everything that's different between driving and idling. Jonathan
  8. Yes, I'd bet on both batteries shuffling off their mortal coils. But... I spent a lot of time trying to work out what was failing before discovering that a CTEK charger could light up its lights in the appropriate conditioning/ charging sequence without actually trying to charge the battery. The UK agent replaced it. Jonathan PS: "Oh - I have no idea why that has posted my topic 6 times!!!" It's a known problem and happens to lots of posters.
  9. Bulgin in CAR: “Look at the Austin Allegro Vanden Plas. Look hard – and, in the purity of its discreet front-end layout, its perfectly balanced mix of regal radiator grille and rectangular headlamps, you can see the inspiration behind the nose styling of the Jaguar XJ40. “For, as Jaguar’s pencil men so obviously realised, the Allegro Vanden Plas is a seminal British car design, combining classic elegance with the timeless appeal only a real commitment to quality can engender. “The Allegro’s subtle grille, especially when combined with the model’s distinctively sleek, svelte lines, makes it an easy winner in the pub car park glamour parade. An understated elegance pervades the car. “In no way does it resemble an ordinary tin box that has been warmed over with a grotesquely crude nose job.” And that wasn't even the estate! Jonathan
  10. "I would suggest the wheel needs a 45 degree chamfer relief of 1mm or so to avoid the slight radius at the base of the hubcentric boss." "Some paint on the raised part of the hub with the same repeat experiment would prove or disprove the theory?..... or even paint over the raised part and the flat part as per the first video, then you would see exactly where the contact points were? " Could that test that? Thanks Jonathan
  11. Is the mating surface of the wheel bare metal or painted or powdercoated? Are those closed wheel nuts well away from bottoming out? Jonathan
  12. Did the fan come on? And is it blowing air in the right direction? Jonathan
  13. "... and add a duct to aid cold air being fed to the filter." There are quite a lot of tales in the archives of additional ducting, including a fully ducted engine bay. I haven't seen many with documented benefits. And the aerodynamics of Sevens are... interesting. OTOH digital thermometers are cheaper than ever before. What do you have in mind? Thanks Jonathan
  14. A couple of other things to think about: It's possible to fit the factory jack and handle in that area. That means that they don't bang around in the boot.And/ or a tool tube.Jonathan
  15. "I have a Sigma 150, but I've no idea about the throttle bodies. How would I know?" Could you add some photos of the engine bay. Let us know if you need any help. Jonathan
  16. You're not alone: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site:caterhamlotus7.club+kangaroo+sigma You might get some improvement from pressing your knee against the sidewall and damping the control loop. But as above there's a collection of technical problems that need to be excluded. Do you have the opportunity to compare it with other Sevens? Jonathan
  17. "I've got a 2012 Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150bhp." Please let me know if you'd like the technical documentation: Assembly Guide, amendments, wiring diagram, Handbook... Jonathan
  18. Welcome. Where are you, and have you already made contact with your Area Representative? /area-meetings Jonathan
  19. I couldn't find any recent mention of the state of the company. Jonathan
  20. 2009: "Ital live axle upgrade" 2017: Experience in Graduates Jonathan
  21. I think that the Caterham support pages now only link to the pictorial style Assembly Guide. There's a lot more in the old text-heavy version... Jonathan
  22. Welcome. Would you like any technical documentation to read while you're waiting... Assembly Guide, Owner's Handbook? Jonathan
  23. Adding photos: The Forum User Guide The shortcut upload method, which is what most Members use most often. Have a play and let us know if you get stuck. Jonathan
