  1. Have you managed to release the cable from the calipers so that you know where the problem is? Do you already have a (dis) Assembly Guide? Please let me know if you need one. Jonathan
  2. I don't think that's been described in BlatChat but here's a mention: https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/topic/141918-engine-coolant-loss-sigma/ What coolant have you been using, please? Jonathan
  3. A *Guide would be a lot better than the two threads. Possibly something like: The problem, with photos Possible solutions, and why choose the relay solution The old circuits The new circuits Components and sources How to make the subloom, with photos How to fit the relay and subloom Jonathan * And a multiauthor wiki even better!
  4. Yes, it would be very helpful to have a Technical Guide on this. That thread includes several possible solutions, including that use of a relay... Jonathan
  5. There's a Lifeline QR column in the For Sale section. Jonathan
  6. I think that we might need more details... which engine, which ECU, and which immobiliser? What are the colours of the wires at the ignition switch that you have connected? Can you add a sketch of the new wiring. Is it possible that you've wired the ignition/ ECU so that it is never powered down in the way that it was? Jonathan
  7. Current recommendation: Draper 41818. That has lots of functions that you'll never use, but it's worth getting one with an audible continuity buzzer. The temperature probe is also fun on the Seven. Jonathan
  8. "It has a water temp gauge which, until recently, was working well. Recent track day and it would just show top of the gauge. Have been advised to try replacing sensor but I don't know where the gauge takes the signal from. It is a standard caterham gauge." You can track (!) down where the fault is by turning the ignition on, disconnecting the wire from the sensor (once you've found it), shorting it to earth on the block and seeing what the gauge does. Jonathan
  9. Welcome Would you like an Assembly Guide with the wiring diagrams? Please send me a Private Message with your email address. You can start working out what's what from the wiring colours. Caterham usually followed the British "standard" colours. And do you already have a multimeter? Jonathan
  10. There's been much less posted here about bleeding Vauxhalls than Ks. One thread from 2015. Usual principles... Air comes out of the highest points and there may be more than one. Heater circuit open. Thermostat has to be hot enough to open. Jonathan
  11. Graham There's a fair bit of discussion in the archives on how to inject the load somewhere stronger than the sheet floor. For example: /comment/2126931#comment-2126931 and following posts. Jonathan
  12. Good idea. I've just had a look at some Vauxhall Assembly Guides and couldn't find any answers. Jonathan PS: Please let me know if you'd like a copy.
  13. It could be. Does it look as if should have an O ring and does it have one? I'd start with Redline. Jonathan
  14. Sometimes I've had to send them to myself! ; - ) Jonathan
  15. K Series Coolant Temperature ECU Sensor Types - What Have You Got? Jonathan
  16. What year is your Seven? I haven't heard of a reducer. Andrew's description of the different sensors and the history, incluidng MEK1000060. And I've just bought a new sensor for the gauge from Redline... I'll look for some numbers. Jonathan
  17. You can start a new thread with "Paul Jacobs: Your mailbox is full" as the Subject. Jonathan PS: Not that I'd want my record challenged. : - )
  18. Nice. What's the workflow for showing YouTube videos inline as you have done here? Thanks Jonathan
  19. Mechanical drive from the gearbox? I'd fit an original. And change the gear to make it accurate, or add new markings on the glass with Letraset at 30, 50 and 70 mph using GPS to calibrate. But it's also possible to add a 'phone or satnav... Jonathan
  20. For the tachometer: Have you got a wiring diagram for the Powerspark unit? Can you pop the instrument out of the dash and take a photo of all of the terminals on the back? Thanks Jonathan PS: I had a quick look at and search at Powerspark's support site but couldn't see anything.
  21. Is this a present or an exchange? : - ) Jonathan
