  1. Please could you add some photos of the current ECU and connectors. Thanks Jonathan
  2. I have a collection of wiring diagrams, including some for Sigma-engined Sevens that never appeared in Assembly Guides. Please send me a Private Message with your email address if you'd like copies. Jonathan
  3. Thanks: searching the archives for uprated + rear + brake gives; https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site:caterhamlotus7.club+uprated+rear+brake Jonathan
  4. The split column and clamp and grub screw are there to allow a small amount of adjustment and to prevent the wheel and upper part of the column being forced into the driver in an accident. Jonathan
  5. Comment about using heat deleted! ... or possibly not. I'd still separate them, and heating's going to be a lot easier with the column out of the rubber sleeve. Jonathan
  6. Thanks. Soaking in PlusGas before the next assault sounds right to me. Jonathan
  7. Please could you add a close-up of where the two parts are currently attached. Thanks Jonathan
  8. I can't find anything in the archives. Are they referred to by another name? Jonathan
  9. "Indeed it is -- what you might call the acid test." Crossword anticipation? : - ) Jonathan PS: What is it about electricity that starts the stream of puns? Or fish? : - )
  10. Thanks Jonathan PS: On the topic of resurrections... the Raspberry Pi thread.
  11. "So the CTek seems totally happy with the battery now, it's made it into the green on the 7 or so lights on top of the charger. The battery voltage seems stable too for instance I left full beam on for 5 mins, it didn't cause a significant change in voltage." That's interesting,,, are you now considering using it away from home? Voltages of batteries that aren't under load can be misleading. Dedicated load testing equipment is common in the trade. The best DIY test is measuring the minimum battery voltage when cranking the starter. How about checking the levels, topping up if needed, leaving it overnight on the smart conditioning charger and then running that test... or the full house: Battery voltage: • At rest • Minimum during cranking • At 3,000 rpm. Jonathan
  12. Topping up as recommended above. I suggest wearing eye protection and using a plastic pipette. And I find that a head torch makes it easier to see what's happening. Jonathan
  13. If you send me a Private Message with your email address I can send you both the last text-heavy version and the current pictorial version. Jonathan
  14. "Thank you, I've tried to see how to move the pedals, and struggling. Do they move as a complete unit? Or do you need to adjust each individually? I've found lots of posts about adjusting individually" There are either two or three positions depending on model. That adjustment is described in the Assembly Guide, as below. There are constraints on the position of both the clutch and brake pedals and cables. Then there's bending the pedal lever, most commonly needed for the throttle pedal. And for some reason I still need a block on the throttle pedal to get the position right to heel and toe. (Currently a section of mahogany handrail.) Jonathan
  15. Andrew Revill's notes on the EU2 engine loom. Discussion of potential (!) suppliers. Jonathan
  16. Well done. Thanks for adding the solution. Jonathan
  17. : - ) Please send me a Private Message with your email address. Jonathan
  18. "I fitted rivnuts to the seat runners so they can be easily removed. Some weld nuts on to them instead. Worth sorting out so you can remove the seats easily for an annual 'sweep the gravel out from under the seat' etc." Yes. It's also possible to cut a small transverse slot in the free end of the bolt and use that to hold the bolt still with a screwdriver while the nut is run or down. All done from underneath. Jonathan PS: Please let me know if you'd like a copy of the appropriate Assembly Guide.
  19. Hi, Dean. I lost two wings before finding a solution. There's a vast amount in the archives on this, please let me know if you'd like any help with searching. A personal summary: 1 Some Members like to use additional fasteners such as bigHeads or cable ties or bolts. Others only use adhesive. 2 There are many different recommendations for adhesives, inclding Sikaflex 221, other Sikaflex products, and Tiger Seal. 3 Preparation of the stay and wing may be more important than the precise type of adhesive. I eventually degreased and cleaned the wing, rubbed the stay back to bare metal, and made a sausage roll rather than a sandwich. Jonathan
  20. IIRC the sizes are in the archives, and have changed once. If Redline don't have any please let us know and I'll see if I can find the information in the archives. Jonathan
  21. If anyone else would like these: for live axle cars I have the Guides etc from 1988 and 1996. Jonathan
  22. From the 1996 Assembly Guide: Jonathan PS: Please let me know if you'd like a copy.
  23. I'd definitely check the levels and top up if necessary. Jonathan
  24. Thanks for adding the outcome. Jonathan
