  1. "It's a 2 year old 310R SV." Shared fuse for wipers and washer, as you say. No relay unit. Jonathan
  2. "Do they have an intermittent feature. On my '98 car you flick the wiper switch on-off-on in quick succession to get intermittent. In a particularly heavy downpour, and unaware of this feature I was swearing alot. Ignition off and it resets." More please, Ian: Did that fail in the downpour by the wipers not working at all until you had cycled the ignition? Thanks Jonathan PS: This "feature" caused an interesting diversion for a few hours during my build... trying to work out why the wipers were on while the switch was OFF.
  3. What model of Seven and type of switch? Do you have a multimeter? And would you like a wiring diagram? Thanks Jonathan
  4. Please could someone scan the current collection of fastener packs so that they can be added to the library. Thanks Jonathan
  5. Redline as above, or Caterham Parts. Jonathan
  6. Email sent. Is this all within the headlight bowl? Do you have a multimeter? Jonathan
  7. You're not alone: "Search facility", includes my preferred method... ... click the second link in my Signature below, and add search terms according to taste. Jonathan
  8. I can't find anything in the archives on this type of shift light units. (There's some useful documentation on how to calibrate ACES systems on Sevens, but that isn't the current problem.) Jonathan
  9. Any oscilloscopes near Southwold? : - ) Jonathan
  10. Discussion from 2021, might include a solution... Jonathan
  11. Thanks, James. It would be interesting to see what's on the tacho signal. Where are you, Bob? I'll have a look in the archives. Jonathan
  12. Instruction manual for the Racetronic G-Shift 20, includes: Compatibility The G-Shift unit is designed for use with any single or twin coil inductive type ignition system. This unit is not compatible with CDi or multiple spark ignition systems. This product will work accurately on 4-stroke engines with 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 cylinders and trigger from 1000 rpm to 20,000 rpm on all engine types. Jonathan
  13. If you send me a Private Message with your email address I'll send you the wiring diagram for the 420. Jonathan
  14. Subsequent discussion of winged Dzus fasteners, including size and source. Jonathan
  15. As a fellow victim of the ratchet trap... ... there are two types of ratchet spanner. The problem only occurs with the type where you turn the spanner over to go the other way! With the type that has a lever you flick the lever and send the key stub back homeward to think again. : - ) Happy New Year Jonathan
  16. How to identify a diff: http://www.mycaterham.com/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_39305/DIR_119216/Guide.jpg Happy New Year Jonathan
  17. Thanks. Upper bit: self-grip wench, or two nuts as you suggest. Lower bit: self-grip wench Assistance: soak in penetrating oil, as already done, NOT ordinary WD-40, and if that doesn't work then local heat on the female end of the adaptor. Then tonk with a mallet and confidence that it will work this time! Jonathan
  18. Are there any little grub screws? Jonathan
  19. Mazda FL22 long life coolant is based on ethylene glycol and is supplied premixed as "55% coolant, 45% water". I'd guess that any difference from traditional coolants is in the inhibitors rather than the bulk coolant. Jonathan
  20. On manufacturers using it as original coolant: 1 This would have enormous marketing value. Some members of my family used to own Decosol, and getting their products used as part of original equipment was a major objective. Some of you will have bought new cars with packets thrown in. 2 Manufacturers have the capacity to study some of the claimed effects such as reduced local overheating and reduced corrosion. 3 The only example of promotion by a major manufacturer that I can recall for Evans Waterless Coolant was Honda with sone offroad vehicles. That will be in the archives somewhere. IIRC there was the usual lack of evidence. 4 "Some manufacturers are using Evans like coolants: Mazda is using a long life coolant, able to stand 200.000 km or 11 years for the MX5 NC (FL22 engine). This coolant can't be mixed with another one (like Evans)." Thanks. I'll have a look. Jonathan
  21. I'd give a straight answer if I could. Are they GKN Tripode joints? Start here. Happy Christmas Jonathan PS: "Driveshaft rebuild" by Tim Pollard.
