  1. Most recent discussion of preferred media for Low Flying. You're not alone. I suggest having a look and adding your thoughts and preferences there. Jonathan
  2. PS: IIRC there has been some discussion of an alloy jack. Possibly a VW product. I'll have a look when I'm on a device with a bigger screen.
  3. The Caterham jack and handle. They are mounted on the flat section in front of the heater on my K. The jack has two bolts through the feet that go down into well nuts. The handle is wrapped in foam and tie-wrapped to the jack. Jonathan

  8. Was it running normally before that? Any recent work? Where is it now? Jonathan NB: Posted as a blog on 13 April: /blogs/clonking-rear-420-r
  9. First thoughts: • With self-parking wipers there's a live feed to the motor even when the switch is OFF. • On your car is the intermittent wipe function activated by a quick ON and OFF of the switch? ª Yes, there's an earth post for the instruments at one end of the dash. • Is the system voltage dropping when the rev counter misbehaves? • There will be a reason why that wire was broken. Jonathan
  10. If you would like a copy of the wiring diagram please send me a Private Message with details of the Seven and your email address. NB there are at least three layouts of fuses and relays on Sigmas. At least one never appeared in an Assembly Guide. "Standard" British wiring colours: Caterham usually adhered to these. Jonathan
  11. In the absence of *multi-author wikis I suggest a Google Doc. Jonathan * But watch this space...
  12. There's a lot of useful information and some widely differing conclusions in the archives. I recommend putting tools in a canister with the jack and handle in the engine bay, strapping cables to chassis members, and being able to charge the 'phones. Jonathan
  13. I'd start by checking if it's the layout in the 1988 Assembly Guide: Jonathan
  14. It's always great to have experts. Thanks Jonathan
  15. "I remember seeing a post on here a while ago about polishing bare ally and there was a strong recommendation for a 2 head polisher - but I cannot now find the post." This discussion from 2021? Jonathan
  16. That review of apps upthread that came up with SPLnFFT was from 2017. Any experiences or later reviews? Thanks Jonathan
  17. What's the surface from which you're removing the glue? And how is it going to be treated? Jonathan
  18. Apps on smartphones which measure sound intensity have been pretty good for some years. And they'll work even better in measuring relative than absolute values. I'll have a look for some recent reviews. Jonathan
  19. "someone has done what you are suggesting but my searches for the old thread are not finding it" ! Discussion of searching, and my preferred method. Jonathan
  20. What Drumster says and shows. Continuous supports should be lighter for any given strength... Jonathan PS: It's possible to link to an individual post in a thread: /forum/techtalk/rear-floor-given-way-drivers-side /comment/2250548#comment-2250548
  21. Several methods. I'd drive a self-tapping screw into the centre. Jonathan
  22. Please could you add a sketch of what you're considering. Would it be possible to combine each of those new front and rear brackets so that they run the whole way between the two points where the load is injected into the chassis? Jonathan
