  1. Our two main weapons are: • Talking to suppliers: Thundersport, Soft Bits for Sevens. NB Club discounts. • Trying existing hoods on your Seven. I'll start the offers with a factory full hood for a 1998 S3 in South Oxfordshire. Jonathan
  2. Please send me a Private Message with your email address. Jonathan
  3. Welcome. There were several different Sierra diffs. I'll look up which the Seven uses if someone doesn't post it soon. Jonathan PS: Would you like a copy of the Assembly Guide?
  4. With the benefit of whatever the auditory equivalent of hindsight is... any unusual sounds? Thanks Jonathan
  5. Thanks for the update. As I may have posted before I strongly recommend testing the condition of the battery before addressing any electrical problem. Have fun Jonathan
  6. The resolution is very poor on the second image. I can't read some of the items. The shortcut upload method limits the resolution. If you'd like higher resolution I suggest using the original upload method starting with the landscape tool: Jonathan
  7. Inline pdf shows OK for me. But we know that format doesn't always display on all browsers and configurations. Jonathan
  8. "Looking at the Caterham number plate light / reverse light, it specifies that it's for "no spare wheel carrier" cars. Why? Is it because the mounting hole pattern is different? Is the new loom section too short to reach up to a higher mounted light? " There's an extension available for the new subloom. Jonathan
  9. "Reverse light & New Caterham Light Kit"... ... the problem and a range of solutions. Jonathan
  10. Have you found the discussion of the Seven's switched-earth reversing light circuit and combined lighting units that include reversing lights? Jonathan
  11. What's the official "first used" date for this Seven? Thanks Jonathan
  12. There are at least two proprietary units with sequential lights. It's quite an easy modification but there are also a fair number of associated wiring problems in the archives. I'd strongly encourage you to sort out your current (!) set-up before making any changes. Would you like the wiring diagram and do you have a multimeter? Jonathan
  13. "The Avon document is linked on the old club url when you do a search. It's definitely talking about caterham motorsport and it says 32-36 hot for the academy tyre." This from 2021? Jonathan
  14. "#13 ..... that must qualify for one of the strangest things found in a 7 !?" Mine has a piece of mahogany staircase handrail bolted to the throttle pedal... Jonathan
  15. I've always arranged my trackday insurance separately from road insurance. For some years it has been with MORIS. They've been easy to deal with, but I haven't made a claim. With the change described upthread would some collective approach to insurers be worthwhile? Jonathan
  16. Now that you've localised it... can you solve it with lower mass by pulling the tube towards a convenient fixed point or two? Jonathan
  17. If you can't find one this way how about: • Turning up with a tape measure somewhere with lots of Sevens and lots of goodwill... a Club Area Meeting or a Seven specialist garage? • Making a life-size replica out of ? cardboard? Jonathan PS: How Moto-Lita measure steering wheels.
  18. Lots in the archives! Possibly the best single thread. Jonathan
  19. Part numbers. And I'd recommend Rimmer Bros for related fittings. Jonathan
  20. You can probably find replacement relays by asking Redline or taking yours into Halfords or similar and matching by eye. And I'll check to see if I have part numbers. Have you established the relay layout? Jonathan
  21. Do you have a multimeter? And the appropriate wiring diagrams? Let me know if you'd like them. Jonathan
  22. Thanks for the update. Jonathan
  23. You'll need the LED-compatible indicator "relay". And the modification with two diodes for the warning light. And that modification will be a convenient time to fit the buzzer. I suggest doing as much of the modification as possible on the bench and then just the final fitting behind the dash. The diode modification for the warning light will work with the existing incandescent lamp indicators as well as the planned LED indicators. There's a diode kit on eBay for £10.49 which has worked for at least one Member: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292435466307 Jonathan
