  1. I find it surprisingly hard to get this right. Models change too often, drivers become unreliable with OS changes, and the market has moved to fragile cheap inkjet printers with exorbitant ink costs and proprietary cartridges. If you don't need "photo" printing then laser printers seem to suffer less from this sort of stuff than inkjet printers. Do you need Ethernet? Do you need AirPrint functionality for any iOS devices? I tend to look what's in the AppleStoreApple Store and read the latest MacWorld group reviewreview that I can find. Good luck Jonathan
  2. *arrowup* ... are you looking for a multifunction inkjet printer? Jonathan
  3. :-) Skitt's law strikes again. I'm with you on the missing "of". But I disagree that it's always wrong to start a sentence with a conjunction. Jonathan
  4. ... you have tried the Gutenberg printer driver...? Jonathan
  5. Don't worry, there's a strong pedantic tendency on BC, I'm delighted to say. At the moment I'm worrying about the exploding misspelling of "lose". And one us has it in his tag, unless it's a joke that's too subtle for me. Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 24 Jun 2012 17:53:00
  6. Does the fog light work if you have the headlights on dipped? Jonathan
  7. Quoting Nigel Fox: You need a split charge relay. If you connect direct to the car, when you crank the the car the voltage will drop and the trailer battery will try contribute to the starter motor current. This will fry the low current trailer wiring. I see the logic. Does it happen in practice? Jonathan
  8. You have to imagine this read by Ian Holm in a cod French accent: "Colin Chapman, 5' 7", designed all his cars accordingly". Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 21 Jun 2012 16:32:54
  9. Some of those relays are interesting. Is there plenty of time to charge the battery on the trailer while it's connected to the towing vehicle? Jonathan
  10. Do you already have a "cigar lighter" socket on the 7? What type of trailer plug do you have? 13 pin Euro? Jonathan
  11. Did you clean and remake all the connections? Jonathan
  12. What operating system and browser are you using? (It's a known problem with iOS.) Jonathan

    Hot R500

Knowing nothing about this... where does the heat come from? * The exhaust plumbing * The engine * The gearbox? If it's from the exhaust is it carried as hot air or by conduction from e.g. the firewall into the tunnel? Jonathan
  14. Napoleon: Alexander the Great, five feet exactly. Isn't that incredible? Alexander the Great, whose empire stretched from India to Hungary, one inch shorter than me. Oliver Cromwell, the only man with any guts in British history, not a big man at all. Louis Quatorze, five foot two half. Charlemagne, dumpy little five-footer. He's quite a little chap. Atilla the Hun, five foot one half. Cyrano deBergerac, five foot three half. Tamerlane the Great, four foot nine and three quarters. Jonathan PS: I already know that these heights are not accurate.

Greggs? Is this a subtle VAT/ temperature joke? Jonathan

*arrowup* Isn't carbon fibre a good conductor of heat? Sounds like the exhaust treatment might be the relevant difference... Jonathan
  17. Recommended vendors, fitters and prices... ? Jonathan
  18. Power feed to ECU? Mine was very tight and the spade connectors occasionally disconnected within the plastic sheath, until I lengthened the cable. Jonathan
  19. Quoting Abbot: Of coarse the chart will only help you with the thread definition ... Sounds fine to me. Jonathan
  20. There's an app for that Jonathan PS: Haven't used a mouse (foil-wrapped or otherwise) on a Mac for years!
  21. Quoting Ian B: The issue with load resistors affects the indicators only, and is due to the standard flasher unit requiring a decent load to operate properly. Thanks Jonathan
  22. How many of us don't use written checklists for workshop jobs when we would "at work"? Jonathan
  23. Quoting wingnutLP: You coud try these http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/380-Super-Bright-60-LED-Bulb.html There's an issue about resistors that sometimes comes up with LEDs. Are these like for like swaps for incandescent bulbs or do you have to do something else? Thanks Jonathan
