  1. Is "2 years old" from when you bought them or when they were made? Thanks Jonathan
  2. Brake light switch discussed here: brilliant advice on the importance of the plastic bag. Do check that they work when the switch is shorted before assuming that's the problem. Jonathan
  3. They've left Qingdao and are now in Weifang. At least I don't have to GoogleTranslate the tracking page from Mandarin anymore. Jonathan
  4. *arrowup* *arrowup*Photos please, Willie. Thanks Jonathan
  5. Thanks: I'll get back to you if it fits A N Other's needs. Jonathan
  6. Is this about aesthetics or better connections or both? Thanks Jonathan

  8. Good advice above. NB WD40 has no or very little releasing effect. Use PlusGas or, apparently, Coke. If the old oil is coming out looking nice and clean, and IMHO for most 7s with typical changing intervals it does, then sucking the old oil out won't be very different from draining it. Perhaps in theory sucking would be less effective at removing metal particles. Jonathan
  9. "Caterham gearbox oil EP 80 grade", £11.94/ L from Caterham Parts Others discussed here and here and here. Jonathan
  10. ... making 30, if I've added up correctly. Jonathan
  11. Just had the reply from Darren: I believe they are round the wrong way online. Ideal for racers only because they are changing pads frequently so can take the caliper off quickly. Yes, you can use them on the road. Quick and helpful, as always. Jonathan PS: Thanks, John, nice to know they're not wasted. :-)
  12. Wiggled and operated the hazard warning light switch a few times? Jonathan
  13. Why are there two feeds? Is one of them lighting-switched for socket illumination? Thanks Jonathan
  14. ... and fuse 14 has a P feed to "Engine loom power feed"... Jonathan
  15. Do all of the switches do something yet? I think there's an RW feed from fuse 5 to some of the switches. Jonathan
  16. Quoting sforshaw: ... isn't it possible to actually unscrew the track-rod from the track rod end, leaving the track rod end ball joint assembled - in the same manner that you adjust the tracking, just keep going?Just done this job for the first time. Excellent tip. Thanks Jonathan
  17. I've asked Darren at Caterham Parts about their recommendations for road use, and whether the photos are the wrong way round. Jonathan
  18. Quoting BigCol: As a slight aside, which roadside assistance organisations are felt to offer the best service/value?Which? have just reviewed this, September 2013. It's complex because you get different answers depending on what matters: low cost, fraction of repair at the roadside or waiting time. Sample sizes 35 to 3,026 per provider. They've also included carmakers' branded schemes. Current best overall: AA 73% Saga Breakdown 72% Discussed: Here and here and here. ;-) The ADAC option still looks interesting. 19. ... and here's the usual reminder about where to store all of this. Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 31 Aug 2013 19:38:53
  20. More good advice here and here, including a reminder about mandatory stuff in other countries. I'd add a multitool (as above), a torch and a charging cable for the mobile 'phone. Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 31 Aug 2013 19:41:15
