  1. Do you need a BikeRadar account to see it? Jonathan
  2. ... I was just about to remind you to think of the relative positions of wheel and face when applying violence... How much is a new one? Jonathan
  3. Aaaargh! I know that.... I meant what's Bob L's tenth character! And all for a missing bit of pedantry. :-) Jonathan
  4. You'll probably get more responses if you put a bit more information in the Subject. Quoting James-Seven: Which headlight bulb to buy from halfords, was looking at the increased brightness + 125%Lots on this in the archives, including: 1 2 If you do fit them it would be great to hear what you think, and see some photos of the light pattern. Jonathan
  5. *arrowup*What's the tenth character? Jonathan
  6. Quoting Roadracer1977: The cycle wing repeater is earthed to the cycle wing stay and that is earthed to the body skin via the calliper and brake line.I don't understand this. Is there an earth cable from the brake line to the body? Have you worked out which fuse blew? Fuel pump or ECU? If you tell us the model and position of the fuse I can look it up. Jonathan
  7. That's progress, but it might still be damaged. I'd leave it on the conditioning charger for 12h, then disconnect it and measure the voltage at rest. Jonathan
  8. Probably dead. Is there an ability to top up the electrolyte in those? What model is your Halfords charger? You need a trickle charger until it shows signs of life. If it's a conditioning charger it may not be able to get the process started. Jonathan
  9. Are any of the Chinese companies that bought bits of MG or are making similar new cars using engines based on the K series? Thanks Jonathan
  10. If you're sure it seals on the thread and not on an end surface (cone/ flare/ washer/ O-ring etc) what options do you have? Loctite 542? Usual platitudes about cleaning and inspecting. Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 3 Aug 2014 21:24:15
  11. Lots of people have found that the ECU feed needs a higher-rated fuse, but I don't know which of yours blew... Jonathan
  12. I'd measure voltage at rest and at 3,000 rpm. Jonathan

    towimh dolly

Several threads on this in the archives. Try searching for "tow dolly". Jonathan
  14. What's the charging voltage at 3,000 rpm? Jonathan
  15. Glad you're home safely. Which fuse was it? Jonathan
  16. Do you know that you've got air in the block, or only that you've added less coolant than expected? Jonathan
  17. Have you drilled the hole in the thermostat? (I haven't done the modification, haven't drilled the hole and my bleed tee is still in a box. I don't know why experiences differ.) Jonathan
  18. Is there a convenient point to read get a meter on the feed from the switch to the motor and the feed that supports the self-parking, see above? If there is it would be helpful to check if the voltage is dropping on either when the wipers stop. Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 2 Aug 2014 13:05:51
  19. I don't know those. What do they tighten into? If you don't get a specific answer there are standard settings for any given bolt size, bolt material and fastener type, such as this. Jonathan
  20. Thanks: I didn't know that. Jonathan
  21. Too many possibilities. 1 Are you sure about not having intermittent wiping... on mine it works by switching them on and then off again quickly... 2 Are they stopping at a particular point in their travel? Does the stopping always occur? Does flipping the wipers forward so there is no drag on the glass affect that behaviour? Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 2 Aug 2014 13:00:52
  22. Brochure with wiring instructions Jonathan
  23. Photo please. Any identification markings on the clock? Jonathan
  24. "Exhausts and MOT's (sic)", with link to the flowchart that identifies the appropriate test for different 7s. Jonathan
