Quoting Pete - W.Sussex: Well mine didn't recover. Tried everything and whilst I got it up to 12.4 volts it would not even turn the ignition on. Am now taking the kind man at Powervamp up on his offer to replace the battery even though it has all been my fault.Yours should therefore be OK, now, Myles... until Pete's new one arrives.
Jonathan
It will lighten the force by 3.7%.
What rack do you have?
What sort of driving do you do, and when does it feel heavy?
Any... thigh clearance issues?

That off load test works roughly as follows:
If the battery won't hold enough charge to show the required voltage at rest it's knackered.
If it does you then need to test:
* Whether it can show enough voltage under load eg starting the engine
* Whether it can hold charge over time.
Jonathan
PS: But I am surprised that yours wouldn't turn the ignition on.

Have you filled it recently? Has the level gone down? Any overheating?
I'd have a good look at hoses, clamp, seals etc then clean them off, drive it and see if it recurs.
Jonathan
*arrowup*Agreed.
Friendly local member or recommended garage?
If the car's OK and the wing will be discarded could you reattach it with adhesive, drill it and add a few cable ties?
Jonathan
Crosswind, change in headwind... ?
Get under it, check it all out again in a bit more detail, including tyre pressures, then see if you can make it happen again.
Jonathan
Tighten them to make it safe. Check it looks about right. Check tyres for wear. Drive it to see if the judder has gone.
Would you set the tracking yourself or take it somewhere? (Crossed with previous post.)

Quoting Myles: Couldn't find anything in the archives (maybe my search terms were pants....)?Try "prop play". But, as above, you need to work out if it's in the joints first.
Jonathan
Quoting Z3MCJez: Is there an advantage in having a tiny hole behind the light cluster, rather than a slightly bigger one that would allow the connector through? Seems like unnecessary effort to me (and added weight).Bigger sounds better. Don't forget the grommet on the edge.
Jonathan
There are several reports of seal failure and of leaks from other problems.Try searching the archives for "prop shaft oil seal".
If you're worried about needing to check the level and fill up while you're away consider creating access through a hole in the transmission tunnel.
