  1. Thanks. If it was mine and the seat had been moving a bit I'd remove it and check that it hasn't opened up the other holes in the floor. Jonathan
  2. Does that mean the seat was moving relative to the car... ? Jonathan
  3. I tried recently to assemble what we knew about LEDs that might work on a 7: model, e marking, price, comparison with conventional bulbs and opinions. There just weren't enough data to make this useful, but I expect that to change... Jonathan
  4. Description at CTEK: The XS 0.8 is CTEK’s smallest 12V charger... Battery capacity 1.2–32Ah up to 100Ah for maintenance What's the biggest battery you'll ever want to use it on? Which connectors are included? They can add another £5 to £10. Price looks reasonable. Have a look at Accumates and Optimates. When I last looked they were cheaper than CTEKs. Jonathan
  5. Can you jam the bolt head with a long flat-ended screwdriver? Jonathan
  6. I wouldn't. What track are you at, and have you been round begging tools and help from other participants? It's very likely someone will help. Jonathan

    Help!

I can't find a definitive answer in the archives. Have you 'phoned Caterham? The Avon site has a list of dealers but their depot in Melksham appears to be closed at weekends. This thread suggests Richard Young might be able to help. If it would help to drop the car near Oxford while you find a tyre please ask: we can store it off the road. We're 10 minutes from Junction 7 and there are some car hire depots nearby. I'm sure others might be able to help with that as well. Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 23 Aug 2014 10:58:16
  8. Well done. Please could you tell us what sort of alternator and where you bought it. Thanks Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 23 Aug 2014 08:23:55
  9. If you're going to make a batch I measured some top hat spacers that work well (and some that don't). Jonathan
  10. Quoting AndyD: Picture showing difference here (new bulb on the right). That's the way to do it. Thanks Jonathan
  11. What's the ignition system? Changed anything recently? Jonathan
  12. Something like a long running cable or chain and then attach the individual bits to that rather than having their own fittings? Jonathan
  13. I'll run another round of this if I get enough interest. We'll probably need about 50 to make it worth getting them from China again. Costs last time were: £175.60 for 30 = £5.86 Envelope £0.24 whether it's for one or two Postage £5.20 whether it's for one or two Total £11.30 for one Total £17.16 for two Total £28.46 for three Total £34.32 for four Photos of various ways they've been fitted earlier in this thread. 14. I don't know what your switches are like: could you post a photo? Have you tried turning both switches on and off a few times? Jonathan

    Top end speed?

What's the rev limit before and after the conversion? Do you currently hit the rev limit in top? Jonathan
  16. A reliable source of top hat washers would be very helpful: I couldn't find one a couple of years ago. Jonathan
  17. Quoting Englishmaninwales: I know the archive is useful but...sometimes it is quicker and more simple to just ask the question and get a useful answer inside 1 hour compared to trawling through 52 threads in the archive, some of which are over 10 years old. I suppose it depends on how much time one has to spare and how up to date the advice needs to be It takes about a minute to search the archives and see if any Subjects look useful and open them: Possible future improvements to workflow and how the technical wiki will help. Jonathan
  18. PS: Do you know about fitting nylon bolts? The idea is that they break before the body or wing is damaged. Jonathan
  19. Are you sure that they aren't fitted into threaded fasteners rather than needing a bolt (and access) on the back... ? Crossed post: SNAP! Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 21 Aug 2014 08:54:11
  20. Cycle both the indicator switch and the hazard warning light switch a few times. Any change? Jonathan
