  1. What's the axial length of thread in the nut that's engaged on the stud? Thanks Jonathan
  2. In case anyone noticed the car... I think that's it's a Lancia Flavia Vignale Cabriolet. Jonathan PS: Which I think were the second words of French that I learnt by heart. The first being from the label on the HP sauce bottle, which eventually led to:
  3. Documents sent. Initial thoughts on problems with indicators: Changes from incandescent bulbs to LEDs. The notoriously unreliable hazard warning light switch and its surprising effects. Cars that have been used for racing. Jonathan
  4. Please send me a Private Message with your email address. Jonathan
  5. I was misled when my 1800 K had some leakage between the plastic manifold and the head. Coolant appeared on the other side of the engine! Fixed by a visitor from Loughborough! Jonathan
  6. I think that's right for most LED headlamps on Sevens. You can check by your own by using a convenient wall and the alignment instructions in the Assembly Guide. Jonathan
  7. I think so. Looks like a great opportunity for climbing the learning curve together.. Jonathan
  8. All discussions of ZZR in the past year. And of ZZS. Jonathan PS: It would be great if someone could write a summary of the alternatives, their specifications and Member's experiences.
  9. There's a bit of information in previous discussions but unfortunately it's scattered across multiple threads. Jonathan
  10. Do you need to disconnect or switch off anything before measuring that resistance? Thanks Jonathan
  11. EDITED: I suggest disconnecting the battery whenever you're not working on the car until this is sorted. ... What's the battery voltage with the ignition switch OFF, then with the ignition switch ON, and the minimum seen as it cranks on the starter? Jonathan
  12. There are at least three different layouts of relays and fuses on Sigma-engined Sevens. I'd check what you've got against the layout in the Owner's Handbook as well as the wiring diagram in the Assembly Guide. If they don't match your Seven please let us know what you've actually got and we'll find the matching layout. Jonathan
  13. From the text-rich 2015 Assembly Guide: It also has notes on initial set-up if you don't have the appropriate gear. If you'd like a copy please send me a Private Message with your email address. Jonathan
  14. Thanks for trying! Discussion of searching here: It would be great if you could add your thoughts while they're still fresh. Jonathan
  15. I thought that this sounded familiar! Jonathan
  16. Thanks for the photos. I was also wondering about fettling the mounts to drop it a bit. Jonathan
  17. Please could you add some photos of the radiator and how it's mounted. Thanks Jonathan
  18. Yes, I'd do some checks before concluding that it's the starter. Check battery fluid levels and top up, as appropriate. Inspect all relevant wires and connections, including earths. Try jump starting from another vehicle or battery. What's the battery voltage at rest, minimum during cranking, and at 3,000 rpm if you can get it running? Do you need a wiring diagram? Jonathan
  19. They're surprisingly repairable. And doing it that way means that it will fit back in and that the electrical connections will connect. Jonathan
  20. I suggest asking all three of the recommended suppliers. NB possible Club discount. Classic Silicone Hoses Samco SFS Jonathan
  21. Looks like a resistor. But I can't make out all of the coloured bands. Electronic color code: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_color_code A decoder: https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/resources/conversion-calculators/conversion-calculator-resistor-color-code Jonathan
  22. It's often necessary to replace the timer/relay when changing from incandescent to LED indicators. But I wouldn't expect that to account for the effect of the other light circuits. Jonathan
  23. That's where I'd start. You can pull bulbs one at a time and see which one makes a difference. And use an additional lead to provide a temporary good earth and ditto. Jonathan
