  1. As Myles says. Done any recent work on it? Check inertia switch and connections including earths and trace feeds with a multimeter. If you get to the point where you have the ignition light on but the fuel pump doesn't run then check the feed voltage to the pump or run a jump lead to it to test. Jonathan
  2. On my R400D I put a 1000ohm and 2000ohm resistor in parallel with the fuel gauge wires from the sender (giving 667ohms of parallel resistance to the sender unit). With this value the gauge gives both a slightly better indication of full and is on zero with 7 litres in the tank (which seems to be about the minimum to avoid fuel starvation at the track). Due to the sloping bottom of the tank, a completely different float position and design would be needed to get the gauge to read zero when fuel in the tank is also zero. This sounds like the best approach to me. Would people be interested in a general-purpose circuit that allowed recalibrating the gauge display? I think someone has already published the resistance-level map. I suppose there may be more than one type of map. I'm surprised that more people who aren't happy haven't done the following: 1 Empty tank. 2 Mark gauge with a Letraset line or similar. 3 Add 5 litre of fuel. 4 Mark gauge. 5 And so on until full. 6 See if using those marks works out better in practice.   4. Not sure about that. I think the same fuse usually feeds both sides so it can't be that. Could be where the wires diverge but faults around the bulbs, lampholder and earths are so common that I'd put my money on two of those. (Bayes rather than Gilbert of Occam.) Jonathan
  5. It's one of the best examples of the configuration of power units and drivetrain that is currently optimal for many owners/ vehicle niches. But the fuel tank on the range extender engine is too small. Jonathan

  10. How about organised by general location (e.g. rear suspension, front suspension, steering, mounts, front brakes, rear brakes) and then within that by head size to minimise the fiddling? Does anyone use dabs of paint to help? Multiple colours? Jonathan

  12. *arrowup*I don't understand. How will recalibrating affect your range? How about marking the glass on the gauge with gallons from empty using something like Letraset or bits of tape? Jonathan

  15. Hmmm... Bad ECU or bad connection between that fuse and the ECU or bad earth somewhere that affects ignition but not lights? Where does the ECU get its earth? Check the engine earths. Is there a convenient connector close to the ECU that you could open to check what's getting to it. We'd need a pin diagram for that to work. Jonathan
  16. OK. Is that fuse going live when you turn the ignition on? ... I'm not familiar with master switches... can anyone spot what I'm missing... Jonathan

  18. Quoting Erngor: Went to use the car today, turned on the battery master switch and nothing. I have checked out the master switch using the LC7 fitting instructions as a guide and I have 12.96 volts at the respective terminals when the switch is on the OFF and ON position, and a earth connection from the resistor It didn't start... but did anything electrical work? Ignition light? Lights? Fuel pump? Jonathan
