  4. I have never been able to understand the branding strategy between "Powervamp", "Odyssey" and "Hawker". There is now a "Clubsport" page of products devoted to the PVR22 and a "Racing" page. The PVR22 stil looks like a good cheap option for most 7s. (There was very little interest in a Bulk Buy.) Jonathan

  9. ... where did you buy your Powervamp? At a parts shop in Aylesbury: I needed it the same day rather than at the lowest price! I found them through the Powervamp web site, but IIRC there was a dance about what was Odyssey and what was Powervamp. But the discussion about the PVR22 was triggered by their eBay shop. Jonathan

  12. Very happy with my Powervamp PVR25. It lives on a conditioning charger all the time the 7 is in the garage. Discussion of the PVR22. I made a fruitless attempt to develop a Bulk Buy. Jonathan
  13. The point about it not being determined by the slope itself has been made above. I'm not sure how you're going to check this without a real 7 or a mockup. You could try us with a sketch and a few measurements. So I'd appeal to owners in Italy... turn it into a social occasion, and write up in Low Flying. :-) Jonathan

  15. You do mean the two-piece Watt's linkage rather than the one-piece radius arm? The May 2012 Assembly Guide for the two-piece linkage says: "9.8.3) Link arms to chassis With the De Dion tube in place attach the forward link arm to the upper mounting bush on the chassis using caphead bolt (fastener pack 30R011A Item 2) pass from inside the cockpit, through the link arm."   18. Sounds like progress. What's the voltage on the multimeter before you turn the key and when you do? (Second best equivalent: what happens to the headlights when you turn the key?) Battery pack or jump start off another car sounds like a good idea. Still worth doing the direct feed to the solenoid as a diagnostic test. Jonathan
  19. For testing the solenoid and starter with a jump lead... you might find it easier to fit the wire to the solenoid terminal and touch it to the battery rather than the other way round. Jonathan
  20. Could that "cut out" or FIA/ kill switch or immobiliser be getting in the way? Unless you've got something clever like relays or an ECU in the way the feed to the solenoid comes from the starter terminal on the switch or from a separate starter switch. Have you got a wiring diagram? That will give you the wire colours. Trace that with the meter from both ends and see where the voltage does and doesn't get to. You can also touch a temporary jump feed to the terminal on the solenoid and check that it then cranks. That won't tell you why you're not getting 12V from the switch, but it will reassure you that the solenoid and starter are working, and won't be affected by things like the kill switch or immobiliser.   22. I don't understand the names of the recent Ford engines used by Caterham. Caterham Parts say this is the cam belt for the Sigma. If you take that part number (1004299) to FordPartsUK you get this, which is cheaper than from Caterham but calls it a "Zetec-S" or "1.6 Duratec" belt. That number should also work on other part suppliers' sites. If that engine is the same as a Zetec there's lots of related advice in the archives. When you have worked out what it is you could buy the appropriate Haynes manual... probably the one for the Ford Focus. Jonathan
  23. Same view as Roger. I also think there's probably a difference between big batteries designed for storage and intermittent use and the minimal things which were designed with low mass as a high priority, often for racing, that many of us put in our 7s. My 7 and Vespa both live on conditioning chargers in the garage. Jonathan
