  1. 1,3,4 OK. 2 still just the icon. Jonathan
  2. First photo showing fine, second isn't. Jonathan
  3. Revised: Please tell us what is happening to resolve the known problems: priority areas and time scales. Searching. The issue of for-profit sales. If this is losing us members let's review the policy and/or create a new area with this specific purpose.Jonathan
  4. Go to Google and search for widetrack site:lotus7.club or widetrack site:lotus7.club techtalk How's that? Jonathan
  5. Is a drive-by-wire capable of being as responsive as a mechanical throttle? The engineering aspects of this aren't particularly difficult and the technology could easily offer that. But there are two additional constraints: keeping the production costs down, and the compromises in the algorithm if you have multiple objectives such as economy and low emissions as well as responsiveness. I don't know whether the cost constraints in production versions limit the responsiveness you can get by changing the algorithm. Any more "remapping" experiences that could throw light on this? You can get more responsiveness (in one sense) with smart systems than fully manual (or pedal!) systems. One example of this the braking on eg Mercedes road cars. At high speeds drivers are known to underbrake : the systems are designed to compensate for this. The output is matched to need rather than input alone. Jonathan
  6. ... but throttle response is noticably less direct... Why is that? Sensor, actuator or algorithm? And if it's the algorithm is it deliberate... and reprogrammable? Thanks Jonathan
  7. Is it a "Spot the Difference" puzzle? Jonathan
  8. Thanks, Bob: Leacy Classics SBB10176. Jonathan
  9. I checked 4 sets on Amazon UK, and 3 had both. I doubt if there is a deep reason. Jonathan
  10. Roughly yes. What sort of battery is it and is it the sort you can top up? Were you having any problems with it? Jonathan
  11. (Crossed with Mankee's.) Leave prop shaft connected to diff. Have you got an Assembly Guide? Jonathan
  12. There's lots on this in the archives, and there are some rules of thumb for minimum length of engagement of bolt on stud. What sort of wheels do you have, and what's the length of the protruding stud? Jonathan PS: I wouldn't buy unbranded wheel nuts from a supplier I hadn't heard of.
  13. Could the hill effect be due to it needing more power to go uphill? Did you try unscrewing the filler cap when it happens? Jonathan
  14. I'd work out the access while you're still building. You need to be able to check the level. You've got the two main options* already suggested above. You could also use a dipstick through the top cover if it has one. Jonathan * And I've posted my canoeish experiences with a cut-down key and a ratchet spanner...
  15. Roger: I get this "PDF.js v1.0.1 (build: fatal: Not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git) Message: invalid top-level pages dictionary" when I look at the first link. The second works fine. John: Has Phil's secret sorted it? If not the next thing you need to do is identify the wires. Jonathan
  16. Got it. How are the terminals labelled on the new switch? Can you see any identification on the terminals of the old switch, and if not what are the wire colours? Jonathan
  17. Could you tell us a bit more about what you want this to do? Jonathan
  18. US sourced were all I had turned up too. How about asking a member in the USA to buy one and bring or send it over? Jonathan
  19. I'll check what I have when I get home tomorrow, but It sounds as if it's the same as your hand-drawn diagram. Jonathan
  20. 128 GB and 11h, but you have to do a bit of work to be allowed that. Jonathan
  21. We have struggled for two hours to try and tease the diff out but so far it refuses to come out. What OBNS says... is the problem that it's tight in its mounts or that you can't get it past the members*? Jonathan *Political analogies are available.
