  1. I was thinking of 3D printing for this. Could clip on and off. Could have shutters and stay there all of the time... Jonathan
  2. Have we ever found a Sigma wiring diagram with only one sender? Jonathan
  3. "The above makes me question whether the thermostat is not indeed an 82 degree as it's part number suggests, QTH576K. I have now ordered another thermostat, as discussed on this forum, a CIRCOLI part no. 209590300. The QTH576K was not stamped with a temp and was shorter than my original thermostat, albeit meant to be 82 degrees." You could test them both in the kitchen... Jonathan
  4. "Sorry but what do you mean by resetting the column? Unbolting at the UJ, removing, and re-threading through the pedal box?" I was concerned about the fouling at the pedal box and thought that it might be a good idea to slacken everything off in order to see why it's happening. But it looks as if you have a more cost-effective initial step suggested upthread. Jonathan
  5. I'd start by resetting the column. Would you like a copy of the Assembly Guide? And reading the accumulated wisdom in the archives on servicing the rack. Jonathan
  6. Is that 160° F or a typo? Thanks Jonathan
  7. Thanks. Yes, sounds like alternative circuit. And I've corrected the component! : - ) Jonathan
  8. "When ignition is on all side lights and brake lights (including all the new lights) work as expected. However when side lights are on and ignition is switched off the new high level brake lights go out when I press the brake pedal." I don't understand... why do they "go out". Were they ON before you pressed the brake pedal? ... Do the new lamps have resistors and diodes built into the unit or do you have to add them? Do you have a multimeter? Jonathan
  9. Very interesting. Thanks for the update. Have you found two senders? One source of metal particles in coolant is the water pump. But the symptoms don't sound like that. NB you can flush with water rather than anything expensive as long as there's enough wash-out with the real stuff at the end. Jonathan
  10. It's showing but the low resolution makes it unreadable. It would be probably be fine using the upload process that doesn't reduce the resolution. Start with this tool: or send it to me and I'll upload it. Jonathan
  11. Four speed box with direct top? What wheels and tyres do you have/ would you like? What engine speed would you like at 70 mph? Thanks Jonathan
  12. "Anyhow, anyone know where I can buy a replacement S3 glass only windscreen? Heated or not heated, Hard to get hold of and too risky to post." /forum/techtalk/plain-windscreen-glass-getting-some-cut-experiences /forum/techtalk/windscreen-replacement-2 Jonathan
  13. John Vine's guide to the Quaife Quickshift. Full search of the archives. Burton Power. Jonathan
  14. I hadn't realised that the glass was out. Are you sure that you have the right gasket? There's a recent thread about that. Jonathan
  15. The diameter of a Coke can is about 66mm. My wet sump K is 87mm. Jonathan
  16. This comes up occasionally, and someone made a neat one recently: I'll dig that out. But I don't think that it was a K. Full search of the archives. What's the *clearance under the sump, and is it what you want? And do the seat bolts look lower than you want? Jonathan * Coke cans are available... : - )
  17. Legally required... here's the Highway Code, although of course that isn't the actual regulations. Rule 249 All vehicles MUST display parking lights when parked on a road or a lay-by on a road with a speed limit greater than 30 mph (48 km/h). Law RVLR reg 24 MoT inspection... here's the manual, although of course that isn't the actual regulations. (They call them "position lights".) Front and rear position lamps Vehicles must have 2 front and 2 rear position lamps, except for tricycles or quadricycles that are less than 1,300mm wide. Daytime running lamps (DRLs) or headlamps may function as front position lamps. If the DRLs function as front position lamps, they may or may not dim when rear position lamps are switched on and may dim or turn off when headlamps are switched on. Front position lamps can switch off when the front fog lamps are switched on. The front and rear position lamps must light up at the same time with the registration plate lamps and end-outline marker lamps. Jonathan
  18. I have the 1988 and 1996 Assembly Guides. Please let me know if you would like copies. Jonathan
  19. Thanks, James. Thanks, all. MIG rather than TIG because it's easier, and I need all the easier that I can get. So, of course, I went back to trying fix the wire feed. I should fit quick-release fasteners on the cover panel. It won't feed for more than a few seconds, and I'm not sure whether welding makes any difference to that. If I wiggle the spool it then feeds again. I'll have yet another look at the drag on the spool and the grip wheels. "Any rust on the wire spool from long term storage will soon cause trouble with the wire feed & liner." I didn't know this. The wire is old and it does free up easily with a wiggle. Thankyou. Jonathan
