  4. Also, for one reason or another I didn't get the seats bolted in before it was picked up. They have quoted an hour to do the bolts up. Seems a bit excessive to me? Tell them that you won't charge them for your wasted time as it doesn't work and they didn't connect the tank earth if they don't charge you for bolting the seats in? Jonathan

  13. Ratrace put an 82° thermostat in my rebuilt 1800 K, which is used on road and occasional trackdays. I haven't drilled it because it I don't have any problems with filling or temperature: if I did I would. Jonathan
  14. Thanks - although now we are back to 75W-80 in some lists and 75W-90 in others. Unsatisfactory, isn't it? Not that it probably makes much difference! Agreed. Jonathan

  18. Voltage on the battery seems to be 11/12 volts across the terminals at present, haven't tried a cranking test yet. That's not encouraging. But is that on a multimeter or does the charger have some sort of indicator? Does it need topping up? Still worth checking all relevant feeds and earths: disconnect, clean and reconnect. You've given it some time on the alternator, but it may still be worth a couple of hours on the unconditional charger. IMHO the most sensible battery for most 7s for most purposes may well be the PVR "Clubman" 22. (I use a PVR 25.) Jonathan
