  1. Well done. Thanks for adding the answers. Jonathan
  2. A recent summary of the hierarchy of methods. Jonathan PS: How I found that.
  3. It might be repairable... /forum/techtalk/speedometer-and-instrument-repairs Jonathan
  4. Well done, thanks for adding the solution. Jonathan
  5. Which model and engine? Which make and part number is the sender? Are you sure that the fault is at the sender... does it fail for long enough to explore what happens? I'd start by inspecting the contact(s) on the sender and the adjacent bit of wire. Do they feel OK, do they look OK, can you replicate the fault by wiggling? Jonathan
  6. My first choice would be removing, stripping, inspecting, welding and powder coating. Both sides. Jonathan
  7. 1800 vanilla, EU2: Jonathan PS: Sorry for the delay, but I expect that it gave you time to complete another couple of projects!
  8. That's what I'd do. Including minimising loads from hoses in that super careful fitting. Except for flushing annually. Jonathan
  9. Have you already got the specific CSR documentation? Please let me know if you'd like a set. There's a note with pictures on page 22 of the "CSR Assembly Guide Supplement". Jonathan
  10. /forum/techtalk/radiators-coolant-after-420r-failure /forum/techtalk/k-series-ally-radiators Jonathan
  11. "Raising engine to 3K dose not alter the output 12.6V steady." That sounds as if either the alternator or its wiring is duff. I don't know what was fitted to CSRs, but I'd start by checking all of the relevant wiring and connections including the engine earths. Inspect, wiggle, disconnect, clean, reconnect. That should identify the thin wire to the warning light and whether there's an exciting wire. Jonathan PS: Has the battery ever gone flat? And do you charge it whenever it's back at base?
  12. Thanks. And it's a Stack dash like this? Jonathan
  13. Did the ignition warning light work OK until recently? On with ignition ON and then OFF as soon as the engine starts? How many wires are connected to the alternator, and what colour are they? What's the voltage across the battery at 3,000 rpm? Any recent work on the car? Jonathan
  14. Please send me a Private Message with your email address and I'll send you the wiring diagrams. Jonathan
  15. 1 Do you have the wiring diagrams for the shift lights and for the Seven? Please send me a Private Message with your email address if you need either. 2 Do you have a multimeter? 3 What engine and ECU? 4 Is the tachometer behaving normally? 5 Any recent work or drowning that could have affected anything? Jonathan
  16. There's a lot of previous discussion in the archives about appropriate coolant when RadTec suggest one type for the radiator and the engine supplier suggests another for the engine. Jonathan
  17. There's a previous discussion of flush push switches, with photos of two similar but different makes/ types. But I haven't found it... yet. Jonathan
  18. Please can you add a photo of yours. Thanks Jonathan
  19. Please let me know if you need any wiring diagrams. Jonathan
  20. Are you sure that you don't have a leak somewhere? And how about asking a friendly tester to run some emission tests without an MoT inspection? Where are you? Jonathan
  21. Are you measuring continuity/ DC resistance across the component itself or from the component's earth connector to a good earth? And were those resistance measurements with the components connected or disconnected? Thanks Jonathan
  22. In my 1800K I'm using: NGK Spark Plug BCPR7ES (3330) SKU: NGK_3330 Jonathan
