  1. Yes, could have been a duff connection with an inappropriate earth contact so try again. Would you rather do that even if it blows a fuse or have a step-by-step diagnostic session with a meter? Jonathan
  2. I don't understand all the thread, I don't have a diagram in front of me, I've never done this, and it's been a long day, but here goes... White/ Brown should be gauge to sensor, and Green should be switched feed to gauge. Which is what you did. If it blew a fuse the resistance is too low somewhere. So... How does a two-terminal sensor work? What's the resistance of that warning lamp?Jonathan
  3. Is that White/ Brown on the extreme L in the second picture? Jonathan
  4. What model of relay and bulb? I would guess that it was a duff relay rather than an effect of having different types of bulbs connected. But see this thread for similar relay failures and that and this for recommended models. Jonathan
  5. It's probably a good idea to be able to supply more than 0.5 A to future smart 'phones and tablets. I think the iPhone 6 fast charging is 1.2 A and the iPad is 2.4 A. Glad you're getting more in practice! Jonathan
  6. I'm not convinced that sleeving ouside the current insulator will drop the temperature of the insulator much in the steady state. Any experience in practice that anyone can share? Jonathan
  7. All sounds fine to me. Are you sure you don't want another USB socket under the dash... a bit more reliable than adaptors... Jonathan
  8. You can get cables with insulation that will tolerate higher temperature. But most people get away with finding a better (even if it's longer) run that keeps it away from the exhaust, and a few fit heat shields. Jonathan
  9. This is the article I was trying to remember: http://www.mycaterham.com/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_39305/DIR_119216/Guide.jpg Jonathan
  10. Can you add an end-on photo: there's a trick that depends on whether it looks like an X, or something like that. Jonathan PS: By an extraordinary coincidence I'm watching a programme on giving LSD to dolphins!
  11. To use it for charging: Is it switched? Where's the fuse? What's the rating of the fuse? For a "cigarette lighter" socket and at least one USB port I'd consider something like: Going cheap at Aldi. Jonathan
  12. URGENT I'm placing an order for more of the fitted bags, both red and black. Pictures earlier in the thread. I expect prices to be similar to those for the last batch, but I can't be sure. Please let me know (preferably in this thread) as soon as possible how many of each you'd like, whether you've already told me or not. Thanks Jonathan
  13. I suggest you PM Blokko and BBL directly. Jonathan

  18. Anyone like to share photos of installations... including those from previous batches? In the thread you'll see that the supplier asked about P-clips. In the end he couldn't deliver these. Has anyone found anything suitable? Jonathan

  22. For the North-East, John Aston has kindly offered: if anybody needs to contact me I am on 07711 889304. I am a regular at Croft Circuit so if any of the North Eastern lads are going to meetings there they can collect from me . Or from home of course- 20m S of Middlesbrough and 35 N of York So now I need anyone who wants his delivered that way to let me know with your username, a real name and address. For other areas please see above, and let me know your userbame, real name, address and which AR. I'll bag them and label them with names and addresses and AR name. Jonathan
  23. Using the Thame meeting to get these delivered is great from my point of view. But I don't know who wants to use that route, where you live, who your AR is or whether he is attending or willing. So I think the best way of sorting this is to use this thread directly between members who asked for some and ARs. I'll then get them to the meeting in line with those agreements. Thanks Jonathan
