  1. That's impressive from a 'phone! :-) But my inline image which was working now just shows the image icon: can anyone else still see the photo? Jonathan
  2. I'd ask Grubbster if it's the one he bought. Jonathan
  3. The range of price for the tools is really big (at £25 that one's near the bottom), and there's a lot of disagreement about what's necessary. How many do you have to do? Previous discussions. Jonathan
  4. I give up, how does that lock on the cable? Does the sleeve jam in some way? Jonathan
  5. There are now no direct ferries to Denmark... I hadn't noticed that closure. Always enjoyed the crossing to Esbjerg as the start of the pleasure of being in Denmark. :-( Jonathan
  6. What's next? Finish reclaiming the garage bay! (Funny how two crates of tubes insidiously attract lots of other stuff.) Persuade you all to buy the last few bags. Enjoy the photos showing where you've inserted them.:-) Jonathan
  7. Could you add a photo of the peg thing? I haven't seen one that doesn't screw tight. Jonathan
  8. It is possible to get those served images to show inline, but you need to link to the image rather than the Carousel page: Looks good. Jonathan
  9. While you're waiting for the article... lots of photos in this blog. Jonathan
  10. Simon: is there an age of shock absorber at which you'd always recommend changing both sides if you're changing one? Thanks Jonathan
  11. Edd China can do anything with a ratchet strap... Jonathan
  12. Any way of setting a jack at an angle with one end on the ground and the other against the bottom inner edge of the tyre? Or a ratchet strap to a fixed point... bottom of a fence post or another vehicle? Jonathan
  13. I'd post it if I knew how to include an image on a thread. Uploaded from your computer or linked to a picture on a hosting service? Ian B's helpful Guide. Jonathan
  14. Is it best I don't worry about trying to understand it and do what I'm told? Not for my students, it isn't! :-) With the override switch (which can be fitted later) let's go with the switched earth option. The fan will have a permanent feed (igntion-switched and fused) which is your current (!) green connected to the fan without the switch. It will have a switched earth which can either be made by the ECU feed (via the relay) or the override switch. This will replace (but probably be a modification of) the current permanent earth which is your black. Now ignore all of that for the time being and read "Understanding Relays". You won't need most of it for your purpose. but it will help you get your mind round the controlling side and the controlled side. (The pin numbers in the article won't match the relay you use.) And... you do have a multimeter? Jonathan
  15. (Crossed with SM25T's.) I don't know what POR-15 Cleaner is but the manufacturers say it's water-based. I'd try white spirit first, and if that doesn't work petrol. Usual precautions. Jonathan
  16. Fabsil coverage. Haven't done a hood but I use the spray on tents etc. I think it's cheaper in bulk liquid, and very variable in price. Jonathan PS: Since I was given an SFBS half-hood I have used no other.
  17. You're right. I forgot how easy it now is to find members' posts. I'll contact the company: Summit Saw Blades. Jonathan
  18. 1 Kill the mould: very dilute bleach, and this sort of stuff might be convenient. 2 Clean with shampoo and extreme gentleness. 3 Get it dry. No, really dry. Even drier. 4 Clean all the areas in the boot etc that it's been near. Although the spores are everywhere and just waiting for the right conditions I'd find it hard not to add this step. Do you need to do the outer surface as well? Jonathan
  19. Are you still with us, Richard? Jonathan
  20. Thanks, Paul. Got all you need, Ben? Jonathan
  21. Any preference for using that relay to switch the feed or the earth, Paul? (That's why I removed the wiring plan last night!) Thanks Jonathan
  22. Thanks, Ant. Still some bags available... Red bag: £3.71 each Black bag: £4.59 each Envelope (non-optional) to hold a lot of bags: £0.24 Postage: £2.80 per envelope, regardless of exactly what's in it. Jonathan
  23. As you say: check the oil level and fill it up. I'd look at the rear wheel bearings, discs and prop shaft UJs as well while it's up. Jonathan
