  1. :-) Any photos? Jonathan
  2. Yes, my 1998 is mixed. Assembly Guide: "Metric ends are indicated by notches on the nut and are used into calipers." That notch of course, might not exist on other pipes. Jonathan
  3. Well done. It's pretty clear and it's a great start. Is anyone offering to update it? IIRC Shaun can serve browsable pdfs on this site. Jonathan
  4. Has Nigel Riches's collection of masses already been mentioned? Jonathan
  5. The threads are in the archives but I didn't find them. You can get the pipes from Caterham or Redline. This thread (!) has links to the Caterham parts (Redline will supply the right ones if you 'phone them) and some hints on fitting. Jonathan
  6. OK, it might be better expressed that way round. That should work as a common metric across lots of approaches... including the slimming club. :-) Jonathan
  7. Did you weigh those swapped items, Duckpit? Thanks Jonathan
  8. Try this search, IIRC there are some estimated job times in there as well. Jonathan
  9. Did you find the advice about getting a big boy's rivet gun, and the recommendations? Jonathan
  10. Agree with that logic, but bad connections or a tired relay can make all the difference between a marginal battery working or not. As well as the new battery have a good look and preferably a clean when that's convenient. Jonathan
  11. That's good to know. Your nearest Roady is: CENTRE ROADY SAUMUR (49400) AGRION Boulevard des Demoiselles 49400 SAUMUR Tél. : 02 41 40 24 20 Horaires d'ouverture : Lundi au vendredi 8h30/12h00 - 14h00/19h00 Samedi 8h30/12h00 - 14h00/18h00 Jonathan PS: Powervamp are looking for a dealer in France!
  12. And is the ignition light off once it's running? Jonathan
  13. In your position and in a hurry I'd use anything that fits, but watch out for different terminal types. You can get adaptors for some types. If you can wait a bit I'll look for Powervamp sellers near you. Jonathan
  14. PS: If you're now looking for somewhere to stay I've got recommendations for a hotel, chambre d'hôtes and campsite in Fontevraud, about 15km SE of Saumur. Jonathan
  15. Lots of 7 batteries fail within 10y: not sure why. As a first approximation: Starts on external jump but not own battery: starter and engine OK, but battery or cables or connections not OK. Starts on push but not on external jump: engine OK but starter etc isn't. While you're waiting; 1 Start inspecting and wiggling the relevant leads and earths. 2 Do the headlamps come on at all when the engine isn't running? 3 Ignition warning light as above? If the alternator etc is working it might run fine with a duff battery once it's started. Jonathan PS: Great local wine for dinner.
  16. I assume you've got the Stack manual and the circumference... you're missing the pulses/ turn and the effective number of cylinders? Jonathan
  17. Can you get a multimeter? Does it crank and start on a good jump from another vehicle? Does the ignition warning light go out when you've got it started? Jonathan PS: Where are you? PPS: Wait for the Bonnie Tyler jokes.
  18. Have you tried Redline? There's a temporary (or permanent) fix with bike cable and a screw on block if you're stuck. Jonathan
  19. The Volvo ones are also available under a much less posh brand... ? Ford. Volvo part numbers. Graco, with a working link to Halfords. Jonathan
  20. Any ideas for a light weight alternative to the boot carpet. Rubber solution stuff that dries to leave a thin layer? Jonathan
  21. Carbon fibre sheet? Jonathan
  22. I'm not sure what you tried... was it the Vauxhall Cargo Yellow? Jonathan
