  1. Please can you make some objective recordings of temperature and sound as this evolves. Smartphone apps are pretty good at sound levels. Thanks Jonathan
  2. Thanks. The supplier (in China) seems amazingly flexible on volume. Just say what you want. Jonathan
  3. I have a few of each type of bag but no more canisters. I'm happy to get more if enough members want them. Jonathan
  4. If you want pretty lightweight bolts etc I recommend motorbike shops. Jonathan
  5. Welcome. The online description of stock on the Caterham Parts isn't always reliable... ask them directly. I don't know about steering wheels, but the other useful place to check for parts is Redline. Some Members choose to go there first. Need to 'phone. Jonathan PS: Where are you?
  6. http://ipadacademy.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/connectors_compared_small.png 30 pin on the L, Lightning on the R. Jonathan
  7. Would you like a wiring diagram? Have you found the instrument feed? If you can't see anything suitable you could fit a fuse doubler to give you the extra way at the fuse box: would that be convenient? http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31LwBB%2Ba3HL._AA160_.jpg Jonathan
  8. Quite a lot of suggestions now! What are your priorities for both fixes and improvements? I'm just searching for my last list so that I can update it. Jonathan
  9. Hmmm... we'll see! Please remeasure those voltages when it's fitted. Jonathan
  10. :-) It would be really helpful if you could post the parts and sources when you've cracked it. I'm sure that Shaun would add those to his list. Jonathan
  11. I would happily. (That's how it's done in test labs.) Probably better dark, but I'd think even that's a tiny effect. Jonathan
  12. Where are you taking it? (Had mine done today at SJM in Shotover. They're all enthusiasts there.) Most us try to get our brakes a bit warm before testing... but if the retardation is OK and the squeal only happens when they're warm can you have the testing done while they aren't?. (And do testers care about squeal if the force and the visual inspection are OK?) That should give you a bit more time to sort it out. What did the old pads look like? Jonathan
  13. Did the diagrams arrive? Jonathan PS: On the aesthetics... how about a toggle extension as retrfitted to many original Minis? If it's longer AND at a different angle it might be less offensive.
  14. Land Rover equivalent in this thread. Jonathan
  15. That's clever. You could also put some sort of locking washer on the wrong side of the ring terminal. Jonathan
  16. Ooo a wiring diagram... What model, dash and year? Please send me a Private Mail with your email address. Jonathan
  17. Off/ side/ head. One switch: main/ dip. Another switch: flash. NB: High intensity rear only works on dipped headlamps. Wipers: Mine are two-speed with the secret intermittent setting of a brief on-off. Wouid you like a wiring diagram? Jonathan
  18. Agreed. What's the shallowest locking nut that doesn't contain plastic? Jonathan
  19. Do repairers mind them being RadWelded? How do they get it out? Jonathan
  20. If the problem is overheating when the car is up to temperature and static how will the plumbing changes help, please? I'm assuming that the thermostat is already open and the fan running and the cap is now checked and OK. Thanks Jonathan
