  1. I've just spent a fair amount of time cleaning sticky paper competition labels off bikes. The best technique I found was to try and peel from an edge, and when that failed to spray with computer cleaning fluid (which is probably isopropyl alcohol) and then roll the crud up into little worms with my fingers. That did it without picking at it. There are third-party recommendations and rough thicknesses in the archives for the foam strips for both the bonnet and the heater unit. Let me know if you can't find them. Happy Christmas Jonathan
  2. Looks as if Steve Marsh has done it. Jonathan
  3. You can find some codes here. But I'd get several samples of each made and choose what looks right to you. (Lots of different colours have been called British Racing Green over the years.) Jonathan
  4. Lots of suppliers but also lots of types and sizes. If you can't identify it in advance I suggest sending a bit to a supplier. And then posting the answer! Jonathan
  5. It's notoriously difficult... sometimes. And that's with the right prop shaft. There may be some hints in the numerous threads on the subject, but I'm not convinced there's a single magic trick. I think someone bench pressing from below may be more manoeuvrable than a jack. Jonathan
  6. This thread implies ABWT10. Caterham Parts also have ABWT10 but I don't know if it differs between type of chassis. There's a long thread here which might clear that up Jonathan
  7. I've only ever used hands + rubber bands or the transversely positioned screwdriver. Jonathan
  8. Well done. Did you do anything different the time it started? Jonathan
  9. What's the the voltage across the car battery? Can you jump it to another and see if it makes a difference? Jonathan
  10. The remote battery has been replaced and I can get the ticking sound to stop by using the car. The car will not start. I don't understand. How can you use the car if it doesn't start? When did it last work normally? Jonathan
  11. Andrew: I'm not labouring under any delusions about the knowledge gradient between us :-), but aren't there any simple things that Hanns should check first? Or does the silence of the immobiliser* exclude those already? Thanks Jonathan * Or should I keep that pun in reserve for a future sensor problem?
  12. I don't understand this. Please could people add the OS they're using as well as the browser. Safari, OS X: no problems. Safari, ancient iOS: needs explicit log-in a few days of non-use, Keychain doesn't enter the details automatically. Jonathan
  13. As above: what thermostat and is it working? (Traditional test involves a kitchen and thermometer.) It looks as if some modern 7s are overcooled and won't get up to a desirable temperature when cruising on cold days. Blanking looks like the best solution to me. But does yours get a lot hotter when you stop just after the run and leave the engine running? Jonathan
  14. It's a bit hard to know where to start. How about: Trace the positive voltage with a multimeter through the battery master switch connections. Check the ECU fuse. Inspect and wiggle all the earth leads and connections that you can find. What's the voltage across the battery at rest and as you crank the engine?Jonathan
  15. Did playing with those iOS Settings help previously? Jonathan
  16. What was the answer? Jonathan
  17. Can you add a photo of the senor set-up and the display? And the spare part? Then I'd play with moving the sensor closer to and further from the thing it's sensing. Jonathan
  18. ... one of his clutch of diffs... I saw what you did there! But isn't it more fun to slip them in without the warning? Maybe it's just a matter of opinion. Jonathan
  19. I had a set of top hat washers made for ordinary belt plates. There are some still available for small donations to NtL. Let me know if you'd like the dimensions. Jonathan
  20. We came up with a few objects of desire when discussing 3D printing. One was battery boxes. I'd like better pedal adjustment. Jonathan
  21. Explained here: should be back sometime today. Jonathan
  22. "The file you’re looking for has been moved or deleted." It would be great if someone could get these working again. Thanks Jonathan
